Elevate your wardrobe with the most outstanding vintage, second hand and consignment ensembles the Danish capital has to offer. Here, Vogue Scandinavia guides you to the must-visit vintage shops in Copenhagen

Known for impeccable streetstyle and eclectic yet refined taste (not to mention a love of sustainability), Copenhagen is an unmatched power player when it comes to second hand and vintage stores. The streets of the lovely Danish capital are sprinkled with unique boutiques that centre around giving pre-loved fashion items a new home. However, the bigger the choice, the harder it is to choose.

While we adore an overstuffed, hunt-worthy thrift shop, this guide concentrates on the spots with the most curated selection of designer and premium vintage. Most stores also sell and ship worldwide via their webshop or Instagram account, allowing those who aren't local or planning a visit soon access to the vast offering of pre-loved goods.

Below is our hand-picked lineup of the most coveted second hand and vintage shops in Copenhagen to join the circular movement in style:

1

Time’s Up Vintage

This vintage shop is probably the most well-known one beyond Copenhagen's borders. Frequented by international stylists and celebrities such as Jane Birkin, Lady Gaga, and Naomi Campbell, Time's Up Vintage offers a remarkable selection of vintage designer and archival pieces from various decades. Whether it's a jacket by John Galliano for Christian Dior from the early aughts, an 80s Gianfranco Ferré top, an Yves Saint Laurent haute couture silk dress from the late 70s, or a pair of 1990s Prada mules – this is the place to find them.

Jerome Vintage

Founded in July 2020, Jerome Vintage has become synonymous with hard-to-get vintage items from the most sought-after designers. Think '70s Celine, '90s Pleats Please by Issey Miyake and vintage Thierry Mugler or Jean Paul Gauthier.

Surrounded by unique designer furniture by Osvaldo Borsani for Tecno, Mario Bellini, and selected antiques, pretty much everything in the light-filled rooms with fishbone parquet is shoppable. Jerome Vintage also offers upcycled pieces under the label Jerome Studio, made from vintage and deadstock fabric.

2ND EDITION

Founded (and personally curated) by a 23-year-old vintage and thrifting-obsessive, 2ND EDITION is brand new to the Copenhagen vintage scene, but sure to become a beloved stop on the second hand circuit. With the aim of offering a selection to suit diverse tastes, not to mention a range of price-points and sizes, 2ND EDITION offers a delightful mix of luxury consignment (think red Gucci clogs or a floral Nina Ricci blazer), Danish favourites (including plenty of goodies from the recently-shuttered Saks Potts) and Y2K-era vintage. Don’t sleep on this gem – it can only maintain its “if-you-know-you-know” status for so long.

OSV Secondhand

Located in a quiet side street just a stone’s throw away from Rundetårn, OSV Secondhand is a small paradise for all lovers of superb second hand with a focus on popular Scandinavian brands like Ganni and Soulland, and unique no-name items. Both connoisseurs of the colourful, quirky Danish aesthetic, as well as pure minimalists will find what they’re looking for here.

I Blame Lulu

I Blame Lulu is the definitive one-stop-shop for all things pre-loved fashion. From deconstructed Balenciaga jackets of Demna’s debut collection for the French fashion house to Prada’s popular Cleo jacquard-knit shoulder bag. Vintage Yves Saint Laurent safari dresses, to Sea New York coats. Not to mention Totême denim and Sophie Bille Brahe jewellery. This consignment shop is bursting with gems. We recommend visiting during the week (it can get busy on the weekends) and blocking some time in your calendar for a proper dive deep into the dreamy offering.

Reseller

Established three years ago, Reseller launched with the desire to stimulate a more sustainable, accessible, and social way of consuming fashion. The consignment second hand store offers an array of unique items from beloved designer brands such as Acne Studios, Totême, Ganni, Marni, and many more. Located in the very heart of the city centre, Reseller is always worth a visit.

Due to a high request in menswear, Reseller told Vogue Scandinavia they are working on a men’s pop-up with brands like Acne Studios, Our Legacy, and Dries van Noten.
