The Danish jeweller behind fashion's favourite diamonds has officially entered high jewellery. Sophie Bille Brahe's debut high jewellery collection, 'Tangerine Sky', translates her signature sense of lightness into eight extraordinary diamond creations. To celebrate the milestone, friends of the house gathered for an intimate dinner at Claridge's in London
Sophie Bille Brahe has long made a case for diamonds as part of everyday life. Since founding her eponymous label in 2011, the Copenhagen designer has become synonymous with winding gradients of diamonds, luminous pearls and a jewellery universe populated by flowers, shells, initials and heart-shaped motifs – heirloom-worthy pieces designed to be worn every day. Now, she takes the next natural step in that evolution with the launch of her first high jewellery collection, 'Tangerine Sky'.
Launching exclusively at Harrods, the eight-piece collection marks a significant milestone for the Danish house, translating the design language that has defined Bille Brahe's fine jewellery into one-of-a-kind creations crafted in polished 18-karat white gold and exceptional natural diamonds. More than simply an expansion of the brand, however, the collection represents the realisation of a long-held ambition. "This collection feels like me – it feels like coming home. These are the pieces I imagined from the very beginning of my career, the forms I have been working towards for the past decade. It is, in many ways, the shape I have always dreamed of," says Bille Brahe.

The Sky 4 necklace unfolds in a fluid composition of heart-shaped diamonds weighing 3.02 carat, 2.01 carat and 1.00 carat, gradually tapering into smaller heart and round diamonds along the neckline. Meanwhile, the Sky 5 earrings are composed around a pair of pear-shaped brilliant-cut diamonds weighing 3.06 carat and 3.08 carat, both of D colour and Internally Flawless clarity. Conceived in dialogue with the work of Cy Twombly, 'Tangerine Sky' traces its beginnings to New York last spring, when Bille Brahe visited the artist's exhibition at Gagosian's Madison Avenue gallery. Standing before the works, she was struck by their weightlessness – the way colour appeared to hover on the surface, "almost like a pink cloud, diffuse and fleeting, as if the marks could disappear at any moment". It was this ethereal quality that gave 'Tangerine Sky' both its name and its guiding principle: how to make something inherently solid, like gold and diamonds, feel fluid, gentle and almost suspended. "I have always felt close to Twombly's way of seeing," says Bille Brahe. "There is a softness and a freedom in his work that feels very human to me."
Made in polished 18-karat white gold and set with exceptional diamonds, the collection is composed through graduations and subtle asymmetry, pairing heart-shaped diamonds with classic round, pear and cushion cuts. Every centre stone is fully traceable before being cut, polished and handcrafted in Italy by skilled artisans.

The Sky 6 necklace expands upon the signature Collier de Tennis, taking the graduation to its fullest scale. A study in balance, the piece juxtaposes the large and the delicate, creating a composition that feels both substantial and light.. Photo: Courtesy of Sophie Bille Brahe

The collection unfolds through eight distinct designs. At its centre are the sculptural Sky 1, Sky 2 and Sky 3 rings: Sky 1 is a cloud-like silhouette crowned by a 3.02-carat Hearts and Arrows diamond; Sky 2 wraps a flawless cushion-cut diamond within a swirling pavé band inspired by the space between dreaming and waking; while Sky 3 introduces the collection's recurring heart-shaped diamond motif. The Sky 4 necklace expands that language into a flowing composition of graduated diamonds centred around a suspended heart-shaped stone, while the Sky 5 earrings, Sky 6 tennis necklace and Sky 7 and Sky 8 rings continue Bille Brahe's exploration of movement, lightness and proportion.
Though this is Bille Brahe's most elevated collection to date, it remains rooted in the philosophy that has defined her work from the beginning. Coining the concept as "everyday high", the designer envisions jewellery that is worn with ease rather than reserved for special occasions – pieces that gather meaning over time before eventually being passed on.

The Sky 1 ring is shaped through traditional craftsmanship. With its cloud-like silhouette and softly swelling volume, it is designed to feel light despite its presence, creating a sense of weightlessness in diamonds and gold. . Photo: Courtesy of Sophie Bille Brahe
"Above all, I believe jewellery holds an emotional and almost psychological significance. It carries memories, moments of joy, of love, of life itself. To me, the pieces in this collection are not simply owned – they are lived with and eventually passed on. We are only ever temporary guardians of their beauty, and I find something deeply meaningful in that continuity," says Bille Brahe.
To celebrate the launch, friends of the house – from Susie Cave to Sophie Roe – gathered for an intimate dinner in the Foyer Room at Claridge's in London. On a warm summer evening, guests were served Lobster Wellington around a table adorned with flowers arranged in Bille Brahe's own Murano vases, marking a fittingly elegant celebration of a collection more than 15 years in the making.
