With a grand affair in Copenhagen, Bang & Olufsen ushered in a new century of curating sound excellence. Celebrities, couture and creations from the past and present all lent a hand in honouring the Danish brand as it celebrated 100 years
Few names carry the weight in sound that Bang & Olufsen does. To honour a century of innovation, the esteemed Danish brand welcomed a glittering constellation of VIPs and luminaries to the Royal Danish Opera House for an evening as striking as its legacy.
With the likes of former Vogue Scandinavia cover stars Helena Christensen, Count Nikolai of Monpezat and Pernille Teisbæk, Rotate Birger Christensen co-founders Jeanette Madsen and Thora Valdimars, and our own editor in chief Martina Bonnier in attendance, Bang & Olufsen looked to the future while regarding its past with reverence. In the brand’s own words: “from humble beginnings in Struer to global icons of craftsmanship. Tonight, we usher in a new century of sound.”

For the star-studded guest list, the Danish brand laid out a myriad of delights spanning its history, a testament to its enduring legacy of combining cutting-edge technology with timeless aesthetics. From the sleek, curvacious form of BeoCom 2 – immortalised in The Devil Wears Prada – to the delightfully retro BeoCord reel-to-reel tape recorder released in 1947, Bang & Olufsen's past and present were perfectly, and elegantly, on display.

As to be expected at such an event, the musical offering was second to none, providing the perfect acoustic backdrop to the evening's visual feast. Guests were initially serenaded by the masterful, emotive pianistic talents of Alberto Bof, before being audibly transported by the powerful vocals of Danish singer-songwriter MØ. The evening was gloriously rounded off with an unforgettable, high-energy DJ set from former Spice Girl and cultural icon Mel C, ensuring the atmosphere remained electric until the final note.
