Swedish interior brand Vandra Rugs – whose designs dress up Vogue Scandinavia's head office – swapped Stockholm for Copenhagen to stage an exhibition with Danish fashion brand MKDT Studio during 3daysofdesign. Below, we speak with both brands on curating the showcase and on the dialogue between fashion and handwoven rugs
The 2026 3daysofdesign served up a slew of fusions between fashion and interiors. Sea New York linked up with House of Finn Juhl on furniture clad in the American fashion brand’s rich embroidery, while Baum und Pferdgarten joined forces with Polish artist Sofia Chylak, who dreamt up a towering lace installation for the label’s flagship store. Another duo who injected a sartorial spirit into Copenhagen’s landmark design festival was MKTD Studio and Vandra Rugs, who presented a curated, calming exhibition that paired MKTD Studio’s minimalist, crisp clothing with Vandra Rugs’ tactile, craftsmanship-focused designs.
“For us, the most rewarding collaborations happen when we meet like-minded creators working in different fields yet guided by many of the same principles. That has very much been the case with Vandra Rugs,” says Caroline Engelgaar, the creative director of MKTD Studio. “Although we work in different disciplines, we share many of the same values – an appreciation for craftsmanship, longevity and a thoughtful approach to making.”
