Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia donned their finest for a royal pit-stop in Båstad, joining guests at The Aurora Concours's annual black-tie gala – with Sofia’s floral dress by a beloved Finnish brand turning heads

This past weekend, the breezy Swedish coastal town of Båstad played host to The Aurora Concours, a three-day celebration of cars, culture and entertaiment. Over 10,000 people made their way to southern Sweden for the occasion, including two familiar regal faces. Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden made an appearance at the event's black-tie gala, following the Princess’s on-stage interview earlier in the day to promote Project Playground, an initiative for which she is co-founder and honorary member.

Founded in 2010, Project Playground is an organisation that aims to provide children with safe spaces to learn and grow. Throughout Sweden and South Africa, the programme utilises a holistic approach to boost confidence and resilience in youth through after school activities. €206,000 was raised for Project Playground at the gala event.

At the gala, Princess Sofia – joined by her husband, Prince Carl Philip – stunned in a floral dress by Finnish fashion house Andiata. Featuring an A-line silhouette and elbow-length sleeves, the look struck a balance between playful and poised. When it came to accessories, the princess kept things simple and sophisticated, pairing the look with a black Anine Bing clutch and Christian Louboutin heels.

A longtime favourite of the Swedish royal, Andiata has dressed Princess Sofia on numerous occasions – including a custom creation for the 2023 Nobel Award Ceremony. The brand’s signature blend of timeless tailoring and contemporary femininity mirrors Sofia’s own fashion sensibility: a thoughtful mix of Scandinavian minimalism and classic royal style, as showcased at The Aurora.
