In 2020, the heart of the Danish capital received a new addition to its buzzy social scene with the opening of Villa Copenhagen – a destination that’s much more than just a luxury hotel. Housed in a historic building from the early 1900s that once served as the city’s Central Post and Telegraph Head Office, Villa Copenhagen has firmly established itself as a favourite hang-out spot for the who’s-who of the town and the number one choice for booking a stay when visiting or planning an indulgent staycation.

08:00: Nutritious breakfast at the hotel’s very own bakery

What could be a more Danish way to start the day than a freshly baked goodie accompanied by a piping hot cup of quality coffee? When staying at Villa Copenhagen, you don’t even have to leave the building to find such delights. The hotel boasts its very own bakery, offering everything from oven-fresh bread to sweet pastries and classic breakfast dishes, satisfying your cravings while you enjoy your caffeine fix. The space’s bold and exuberant decor invites you to linger long after your meal, and during the warmer months, the bakery’s terrace is open for those looking to soak in some rays as they kick start their day.

12:00: Meetings in the most stylish settings

If you’re in town for business, we recommend taking advantage of the stunning meeting spaces Villa Copenhagen offers. What used to be the main distribution centre of the post office has been transformed into an array of meeting rooms and studios suitable for many types of business events and groups of varying sizes. The spaces even feature different moods: take, for instance, the sleek ‘Playroom,’ which boasts dark, elegant interiors and refined furniture, or the maximalist, chandelier-adorned ‘Boardroom,’ which was dreamt up by Shamballa Jewels’ designer Olga Krukovskaya. Let these beautiful settings enhance your day of back-to-back meetings.

18:00: A quick refreshing, post-work swim and sauna

After a long day of work, a rejuvenating break is exactly what you need, and Villa Copenhagen delivers in true Scandinavian style with a relaxing sauna and a pool for a refreshing plunge. One of Copenhagen’s only outdoor pools, the pool is sustainably heated by the excess heat from the hotel’s cooling system. It’s the perfect place to wind down and boost your energy levels for the rest of the evening with a few invigorating laps. Hopping in the sauna will help relieve tensions in your body while allowing your mind to unplug from the hectic day. If you feel like stretching or doing some quick cardio, pop by the hotel’s gym, located right next to the pool and sauna.

20:00: Sumptuous dinner and drinks to finish off the day

After a much-needed break in the hotel’s wellness facilities, it’s time to treat yourself to a scrumptious dinner, accompanied by a glass of delicious wine or a cocktail, if you will. Luckily, Villa Copenhagen has just the spot – or two – for the occasion. Kick things off with drinks in the striking courtyard bar, designed by Shamballa Jewels. The expansive glass ceiling and the interiors that reflect polished Nordic minimalism provide exquisite surroundings for sipping a dirty martini or a glass of bubbles.

Post-drinks, we recommend heading to Brasserie Kontrast, the hotel’s French-style restaurant, which offers a mouth-watering menu where vibrant, contrasting flavours are concocted out of locally grown and sustainably sourced ingredients. If you're dining with a group and you're more in the mood for nibbles, the hotel also houses a lively sharing bar, dubbed T37, where you can enjoy a selection tapas-style plates.

Finally, it’s time to return to your harmoniously decorated room and slip into those famous hotel sheets for what might just be the best sleep of your life…
