Though there were only a couple of Scandinavian stars on the 2025 Met Gala red carpet, they each made a major impact. Below, we break down the four Nordic nods at fashion’s biggest night
Though the Met Gala 2025 dress code, 'Tailored For You', certainly speaks to Scandinavia’s penchant for slick tailoring, there were only a handful of Scandinavian moments on the royal blue carpet yesterday evening. Celebrating the opening of the Costume Institute’s new exhibition 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style', the Met Gala was teeming with unmissable looks and the smattering of Scandi moments did not disappoint.
From a quarter-Finnish queen to a former Vogue Scandinavia cover star, we break down the four Scandinavian moments on the Met Gala 2025 carpet.
Pamela Anderson Sparkles

Quarter-Finnish icon Pamela Anderson looked positively dazzling on the Met Gala 2025 red carpet in a structured sequin and crystal-encrusted Tory Burch gown. Anderson glowed in her signature no-makeup (or in this case, light makeup) look, a Nordic beauty nod if there ever was one. The Scandi icing on the cake? Her ear cuff from Danish brand Pandora, which featured 24 carats of Lab-Grown Diamonds repurposed from her 2024 Met Gala Look.
And could the pale blue gown itself be inspired by the snow and ice that often coats our region? We choose to believe so.
Giovanna Engelbert Glitters

Speaking of sparkle, say hello to former Vogue Scandinavia cover star and Stockholm resident Giovanna Engelbert. The Swarovski creative director walked the carpet alongside supermodel Sora Choi, wearing a sharply tailored mint green suit encrusted with – you guessed it – countless Swarovski crystals (Choi’s pale blue look followed suit, though in lieu of pants she wore a mini skirt crafted of exploding blue feathers). Other supermodels in the Swarovski crew this year were Adut Akech and Alex Constani, both wearing looks as frosted as a windshield on a winter day in the Nordics.

Gustav Magnar Witzøe’s white suit

Norwegian salmon magnate (and Vogue Scandinavia alum) Gustav Magnar Witzøe looked dapper (and on-theme) in a meticulously tailored white custom suit (with matching fedora) by Todd Patrick. The finishing touch? A lucite briefcase filled with roses.
Suki Waterhouse’s Swedish extensions

Did you catch the Scandinavian easter egg in Suki Waterhouse’s look? The actor’s rock and roll waves were completed courtesy of Swedish hair extension and wig brand BHBD. An on-the-fringe Scandinavian moment if there ever was one.
