It girl Pernille Teisbaeck brought her Danish styling sensibilities to her look for the Chanel Fall 2025 Couture show. She gives us an inside view on her cool girl Chanel moment and the breathtaking show itself

For this week’s Chanel AW25 Couture show, bona fide Chanel girl Pernille Teisbaek took an unorthodox approach to her look. “I love playing around with pieces and being a bit spontaneous with styling, particularly when it comes to Chanel,” says the Danish It girl. “So for the show, I actually wore this Chanel skirt as a top, and styled it with my Chanel pumps and Alaia cargo pants, just to have some contrast with the silhouette.” The look is an utterly Danish take on Chanel – effortless, understated and just plain cool. Leave it to Teisbaek. “Thankfully the sun came out just in time,” she adds. “So no need for a jacket!”

To complete the Copencore Chanel moment, Teisbaek, who nibbled on croissants whilst she got ready (“When in Paris!”) went for “really natural and minimal” hair and makeup. In fact, with her loose natural waves and glowing skin, she looked much like she does whilst running errands on the streets of Copenhagen. “I’m letting the ready-to-wear pieces speak for themselves,” she says. “Less is more here!”

Arriving at the Grand Palais, the common setting for a Chanel Haute Couture show, Teisbaek was met with a surprise. “It’s always such an incredible show venue, but this time, we were taken through a different entrance, so it felt special,” she says. “We got the opportunity to walk through the entire Grand Palais. It added a bit of drama and suspense.” She ultimately arrived in a more intimate space than usual, draped with sumptuous rosey-beige fabric to match the quilted beige banquets. A stunning salon erected for the few lucky enough to be invited. "The space itself was gorgeous,” she says. “It was wrapped in a draped soft pink fabric, which enveloped the room, and gave the venue a subtle glow.”

The collection itself – the last imagined by the Chanel design studio before Matthieu Blazy takes up his post – was a polished study of juxtapositions. “It was beautiful,” says Teisbaek. “The main takeaway for me was the contrast between the heavy tweeds and the sheer fabrics - which actually reminded me of my look last season!” Unsurprisingly Teisbaek, who is no stranger to a slicked back bun herself, was also a fan of the understated hair and makeup. “I loved the slick buns on the hair front too, and the subtle bronzed cheeks,” she says. “Felt perfectly considered.”

Teisback was a fan of the slicked-back buns.

The bride was a runaway favourite.

The golden wheat sheaf was a theme throughout the collection.

As for her standout moment, whilst Teisbaek appreciated the cape details, ultimately she had to go with the undisputed fan favourite. “I think everyone will agree, but the bridal look was my favourite,” she says. “It was just so romantic and beautiful – particularly with the golden wheat sheaf threaded through from the start to this moment.” Even a low-key Copenhagen cool girl can’t resist a Chanel bride.
