Stockholm Fashion Week was the perfect occasion to herald the label's expansion into womenswear

For Lazoschmidl's presentation, an updated iteration of the SS22 'Overdose' collection shown in Paris earlier this summer, Josef Lazo and Andreas Schmidl invited us to 'Overdose One More Time'. Realised in reworked versions of prints from seasons past – a psychedelic check, for instance – the pieces are emblazoned with phrases that poke fun at our endless appetite for online shopping. A sheer long sleeve exclaims “4 Sale” and a silver jumpsuit screams “Duty Free”.

… But surprise - rather than re-stage the entire collection, the boys showed just six additional looks. And to make matters wilder, they showed womens - six dresses, made in collaboration with designer Ana Hernández.

It’s an early aughts fantasy, complete with spaghetti straps, butterfly scrunched bodices (a signature of the brand) and lace. Makeup is in baby bubblegum tones, hair is curled or stick straight - as we would have done for high school prom. This time around the slogans include “I’m Your ROI” and “Pre Order Now.” It was a charmingly awkward affair, with guests sitting in a tight semi-circle, models stopping on occasion to stare us dead in the eye. If this is the Lazoschmidl woman, we love her.
