Dressed in Dior couture and sporting an oh-so-trendy robin-egg eye, Laufey lights up the Brooklyn Artist Ball

Stepping out at the Brooklyn Artists Ball at the Brooklyn Museum, Icelandic-Chinese songstress Laufey looked divine in Christian Dior Haute Couture, designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, channelling a gothic ballerina for the occasion.

When we first featured her back in 2023, Laufey’s rise was already evident on the sartorial stage, thanks to her signature ethereal aesthetic. Since then, she’s bewitched red carpets in Chanel polka-dot dresses, coquettish white couture, and – most memorable – those pale-pink Prabal Gurung ruffles at the 2024 Met Gala. Now, she’s cemented her status not only as her generation’s Etta James but as a bona-fide style star.

Last night’s look proved her fashion know-how yet again: an intricately moulded, ballet-inspired mini-dress trimmed with black lace and paired with a matching choker, all from Dior Haute Couture. She grounded the opera-adjacent ensemble with leather ballet flats laced to the knee: practical, poised, and perfectly on theme.

Beauty, of course, followed suit. Expect to see her robin-egg-blue eyeshadow, classic cat-eye, nude lip, and velvet complexion pinned to mood-boards everywhere before you can hum 'From the Start'.
