Diemme and Gant are back with a new collaboration - and it’s better than the last, according to the designers themselves

”It’s one of those rare moments when the sequel is actually better than part one, like The Godfather II or T2 Judgement Day," says Gant's creative director Christopher Bastin of his second collaboration with Diemme.

“Diemme was one of the first brands that crossed my mind when it came to making a collab,” he elaborates. “I love the way they combine elements of streetwear with the outdoors, and how they work with colours. To converge our two heritage brands and our iconic styles was just so much fun and I truly think we created something unique.”

While ‘back by popular demand’ may be a well-worn cliche, this is the exact sentiment behind this latest project. Gant, which has been shaping American preppy style for over 70 years, and Diemme, famed for crafting high-quality shoes that marry function and style, first came together last year on a collection of colourful boots based on Diemme’s Roccia Vet hiking boot. That collaboration was the first time Gant had ever ventured into footwear. This time it’s Diemme’s turn to enter new territory - with the Italian label’s first turn at apparel.

The Gant x Diemme unisex collection includes five pieces, with highlights being a glossy down puffer, lined with neon pink; a heavyweight washed jersey hoodie and the return of the iconic Roccia Vet hiking boot but in two bold new colourways - a pink and all black. “We found the perfect neon pink colour and let it guide the way through the whole collection,” explains Bastin.

For Bastin being part of this journey to clothing for Diemme was “an honour.”

“To mix American sportswear with Italian mountaineering. I think we succeeded in capturing the essence of both our brands with pieces I really want to wear,” explained Bastin. Judging on the sell-out of the first collab, Bastin won’t be the only one wanting to wear this limited-edition range.

This limited-edition collection will be available for purchase online and in select retailers from November 11
