'Twas a red carpet awash with Botticelli-esque lenghts, yet Desiré Inglander's enchanting, tousled 'do stole the spotlight at the 2026 Met Gala. Here, Vogue Scandinavia gets a step-by-step breakdown of how hairstylist Chad Maxwell created the digital cover star's envy-inducing locks, and the Swedish products behind them

It seems Sandro Botticelli’s ‘The Birth of Venus’ was pinned to many a beauty mood board at the 2026 Met Gala (fitting, given this year’s dress code, ‘Fashion is Art’), as cascading, Pre-Raphaelite lengths dominated the red carpet, seen on co-chair Nicole Kidman, Amanda Seyfried, Zoë Kravitz, Lisa, Alex Consani, and many more.

Swedish model and Vogue Scandinavia digital cover star Desiré Inglander followed suit, channelling Rapunzel-worthy locks with her hip-grazing waves, gently braided into a half-up, half-down style. She completed the ethereal look with soft glam and a gossamer, white off-the-shoulder gown by Lebanese couturier Georges Hobeika, paired with Tiffany & Co. jewellery – a sweet nod to her upcoming summer nuptials in France with Mondo Duplantis, who stood by her side on the red carpet.
