Finnish pop artist Abreu beckoned the wicked weekend with a gothic, glitzy fête celebrating the release of her eighth album Traagista mut maagista, transforming a Helsinki hotspot into an unholy, decadent couture cathedral populated by saints and sinners. Below, your exclusive look inside the night
While many were still doing the last-minute panic shops and touch-ups to their 2025 Halloween costumes, beloved Finnish artist Abreu got a head start on the spooky weekend with her epic, star-studded bash celebrating the launch of her hotly anticipated eighth album, Traagista mut maagista (Tragic but Magical), on October 31.
The night before, the who’s-who of Helsinki, including a slew of fellow artists, influencers and tastemakers, flocked to the city’s buzzy haunt, Grotesk’s Upper Bar, which was transformed into a ‘mansion of sins’: a candlelit, icon-and-cross-encrusted couture cathedral that invited guests to arrive as saints, sinners – or both.
Cue boudoir-forward corsetry cinched at the waist, swathes of lace – scarlet, raven and pure white – slashed and dramatically draped, black leather fashioned into form-licking trousers and vests, and gossamer veils that were giving more Madonna than Mother Teresa. Halos or horns, the crowd devoured and delivered, the decadently sinful Thursday service topped off with a spell-binding performance from Abreu herself, bride-clad dancers in tow.
Vogue Scandinavia was blessed with an exclusive peek at the party’s debauchery – see all of the snapshots from the magical night below.
