Gustaf Westman did not miss out on the opportunity to dress up his 'kids' for Halloween, as the furniture designer costumed his creations as a variety of pop icons

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No - it's Gustaf Westman's blob sofa dressed up as Superman!

Whilst Instagram was awash with parents posting pic after pic of their children in a variety of Halloween costumes (some of our favourites being Lily Collins' daughter Tove as both a gnome and a flamingo, and the Kardashian cousins dressed as Care Bears), the notoriously playful Gustaf Westman could not resist joining in. Amid the flurry, on 31st October, the Swedish furniture designer took to social media to show the world his 'kids' cute Halloween costumes.

You would be correct to question this revelation, as, at the time of writing, the furniture favourite is not publicly known to have any children of his own. Well, apparently, we were all mistaken – he has a veritable hockey team of 10.

"Look at all my cute kids dressing up for Halloween!! So proud," read the Instagram caption, as Westman posted an adorable array of photos of his offspring.

First and foremost came Westman's blob sofa in cobalt blue. The curvaceous chair donned crimson red underpants and a matching cape, its back emblazoned with the Superman logo – looking cute enough to rival the Biebers' family superhero swagger.

Having clearly read our definitive guide of the biggest pop culture moments of 2025, Westman delivered several other strokes of Halloween genius. His signature chunky cup transformed into a miniature, dark brown Labubu. Creepy, yet irresistibly charming, the cup was complete with the monster's signature grinning smile and some meticulously hand-crafted felt ears – a testament to its creator's loving dedication.

The spectacle continued with a brilliant, dual-themed pair: the designers' chunky wine and beer glasses channelling Wicked's legendary duo, Elphaba and Glinda. Drenched in appropriate, moody hues of emerald green and bubblegum pink, respectively, they were followed by a cold cobalt blue chunky vase dressed as the unforgettable (and controversial) Katy Perry during her iconic, 11-minute space flight.

The creativity didn't stop there. Other showstopping cermaic transformations included a chic candle holder as pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter, a sleek vase as Rumi, a character from the cult hit film KPop Demon Hunter, and a dynamic duo of a cup and glass as the perpetually plucky fraternal plumbers Mario adn Luigi, and, perhpas most strikingly, one of the designer's iconic spiral stands slithering to life as a serpantine marvel.
