The film 7 Steg, which marks Veronica Maggio’s acting debut, follows a couple navigating the seven steps of falling in love. Ahead of its October 17th release, we speak with Maggio and co-star Joel Spira about portraying realistic romance on-screen

The forthcoming film 7 Steg (7 Steps) marks a first for Veronica Maggio. Yes, it’s the Swedish pop star’s acting debut, but we’re speaking of another first. For the film, which documents the ups and downs of a couple’s romance, Maggio dyes her signature blonde hair both auburn red and emerald green. “It’s not a wig,” says Maggio with a grin when I ask her about the looks. “I had to bleach it five times. I went straight from set to the hairdresser.” She doesn’t seem too phased by the health of her hair – she’s been bleaching it since before she broke out with her debut single ‘Dumpa mig’ in 2006. “My hair has always been a terrible disaster,” she says. “So there’s nothing new with that.”
