The Ugly Stepsister brought a twisted, Norwegian take on Cinderella to the Oscars with a nomination for Best Makeup and Hairstyling. On the red carpet, star Thea Sofie Loch Næss delivered a beauty look worthy of a nomination of its own

If The Ugly Stepsister arrived at the Oscars with a nomination for Best Makeup and Hairstyling, then its star Thea Sofie Loch Næss made a convincing case for an additional category: Best Red Carpet Hair.

Attending the ceremony in a custom polka-dot Ida Sjöstedt gown, the Norwegian actor leaned neatly into the film’s Cinderella logic without veering into method dressing. Instead of soft fairy-tale waves, Loch Næss opted for something sharper: a sculptural updo that twisted high at the crown, creating an almost architectural silhouette.
