By Helene Juliussen

The French maison has published never-before-shared details on the making of its renowned fragrances in a beautifully bound book that's topped our spring interior wish list

We’ve officially begun the shift from a dark winter to a bright and cheerful spring, and with that transition comes a seasonal interiors overhaul. The best centrepiece for refreshed spring decor? A covetable coffee table book, and the one to take pride of place this season is Louis Vuitton's newly-released A Perfume Atlas.

Offering a rare glimpse into Louis Vuitton's sensory world, A Perfume Atlas documents how master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud explores the raw materials that inspire the maison’s fragrance creations. From harvest and extraction, to distillation and blending, we are taken along on the compelling journey of his extraordinary creative process.

Cavallier Belletrud tirelessly travels the globe in search of truly remarkable raw materials, often creating unique relationships with farmers in remote destinations. Each material is carefully selected and brought to Grasse for refinement before being introduced into Les Fontaines Parfumées, the workshop of the master perfumer, who blends them into tailored Louis Vuitton creations.

The book is filled with beautiful imagery, including watercolour depictions by the celebrated illustrator Aurore de la Morinerie, and captivating photography by Sébastien Zanella. Together, they vividly bring the mysteries of the perfume-making process to life.
