Teatum Jones - SS22

By Josefin Forsberg

In a display of skilful material manipulation, Teatum Jones used deadstock fabric and upcycled textiles in their sartorial ode to womanhood

Dubbed ‘Global Womanhood’, Teatum Jones’ Spring/Summer 2022 collection celebrated a collective of 25 unique women who embody the brand’s spirit; bold, confident, creative and smart. Among the impressive line up was model Munroe Bergdorf and activist Kelly Knox.

For the collection, creative director Rob Jones turned to the brand's archives for inspiration, researching moments of intense joy, sadness and hope to build pieces from collective human stories.

Based in London, the brand showed at Copenhagen Fashion Week as one of the Zalando Sustainability Award nominees. Styled by Caroline Harboe, the presentation was saturated with oversized coats, tailored suits and flowy dresses. Material manipulation was a central focus, with pleated handkerchief skirts and overflowing gathered sleeves. Across the collection, bright pink neon clashed with deadstock red silk organza, while upcycled fabric from Liberty sat alongside chunky British merino knits and voluminous recycled poly-satin sleeves. Teatum Jones proved yet again they take slow fashion seriously.
