For issue 24 of Vogue Scandinavia, Stine Goya created a summer tablescape inspired by her own wedding in Sicily. See the stunning throwback images below
For our June/July issue, we invited Danish designer Stine Goya to set a summer tablescape to offer our readers some balmy dinner party inspiration. We knew she would come up with something eclectic and beautiful; Goya has previously incorporated tablescapes into her brand presentations (most notably for spring/summer '25, at which she set a stunning table in her atelier). What we did not expect, however, was that the table would find its origins in something deeply personal to the designer: her wedding.

In 2013, Goya married Thomas Hertz (also the CEO of her eponymous brand) in Sicily. The event was a mashup of Danish cool and and Italian decadence; an unforgettable celebration of their love. Perhaps unsurprisingly, finding the perfect dress was a daunting task for Goya, who decided early on she wouldn’t design the dress herself. She ultimately landed on a Grecian-like busier gown with a tulle skirt and off-the-shoulder straps by the late London-based Greek designer Sophia Kokosalaki. The reception was held at Tonnara Di Scopello, which has since become an influencer Mecca due to its extraordinary views (“It was not popular at the time,” notes Goya).

The wedding was reflected in every detail of the tablescape, from the lace tablecloth (a nod to Goya’s veil) to the single pink rose (she carried white roses on her wedding day) to the tiles, sourced from Sicily by her friend Josephine Akvama and hand-painted by her in-house designer Blanca Alomar. “With this table, we reminisced about our memories from an amazing experience,” says Goya. “It’s like flipping an old photo album and feeling a smile on your lips.”
