The styling tricks to steal from the Spring 2026 menswear shows

By Allyson Shiffman

The spring/summer '26 menswear shows presented a plethora of inventive styling moments to add a bit of unexpected flair to any look. Here, we break down the styling tricks to steal now

The (often sweltering) men's fashion weeks have come and gone, leaving behind a season that was anything but quiet. It was a particularly notable season, marked by iconic venues (Louis Vuitton at the Centre Pompidou, Jacquemus at Versailles), celebrity sightings (including Beyoncé) and, of course, Jonathan Anderson’s buzzy Dior debut. And while the looks that came down the grandiose runways (or, in Dolce & Gabbana’s case, through the streets of Milan) won’t be up for grabs for some months, there were plenty of inventive styling moments we’re earmarking for the remainder of Scandinavia’s balmiest season.

So before we head out on our respective summer vacations (or brace ourselves for couture), we break down the steal-worthy styling moments from the SS26 menswear shows in Milan and Paris.

The partially-popped collar

The styling hack on everybody’s lips is easy to recreate: the one-sided collar pop found at Jonathan Anderson’s unmissable Dior Men’s debut. Mimicked by several front-row guests (including Robert Pattinson and Josh O’Connor, whose collar was adjusted to fit the brief by a woman on his way out of his car), it may just embody everything Anderson at Dior represents: a quirky spin on impossibly excellent, classic tailoring. Vogue’s Luke Leitch has already given it a name: the Anderson Pop.

Summer turtlenecks

Acne Studios spring 2026 menswear.

Saint Laurent spring 2026 menswear.

You know that ultra-thin turtleneck you wear under sweaters and button-down throughout the endless Nordic winter? Pluck it from the bottom of the pile because it’s a summer staple now. From Acne Studios to Saint Laurent, the menswear collections were heavy on ultra-thin and sheer turtlenecks, oft worn with relaxed trousers or, to make the look even more summer appropriate, breezy shorts.

Slouchy socks

Egonlab spring 2026 menswear.

While white tube socks (most frequently worn with loafers) enjoyed an extended moment in the sun, this summer we’re taking a cue from the likes of Prada and Louis Vuitton and reaching for long knit socks, worn with slouchy ease. Simultaneously styled and relaxed, the slouchy sock will add a touch of slacker prep to any fit.

Boxing day

Dolce & Gabbana spring 2026 menswear.

No. 21 spring 2026 menswear.

While we’ve found boxers peeking out above the waistband of low-slung trousers and teeny tiny skirts since the great Miu Miu renaissance began in earnest, at the latest mens shoes we’ve seen a doubling down on this styling trick, with shirts often tucked into the boxers for emphasis. We especially like the take at Mfpen, in which shirts were tucked into fishnets, pulled up over the waistband. Talk about a visible panty line.

The almighty overcoat

Louis Vuitton spring 2026 menswear.

Aubero spring 2026 menswear.

Auralee spring 2026 menswear.

As we saw across endless runways, a no-fuss, lightweight overcoat instantly pulls together and elevates any lowkey summer look. If you’re feeling daring, throw one over a bikini or bodysuit for a (sort of) city-appropriate look.

Sensual scarves

Hermès spring 2026 menswear.

Acne Studios spring 2026 menswear.

Etro spring 2026 menswear.

Like the overcoat, a silk neck scarf, tied just so, adds a bit of flair to casual t-shirts and relaxed polos. Acne Studios does it right, juxtaposing the elegant scarf with a simple too-tight t-shirt.

Tie tricks

Junya Watanabe spring 2026 menswear.

Willy Chavarria spring 2026 menswear.

Also around the neck: ties. So many ties. This season, designers found new and inventive ways to wear the humble necktie. Whether tucked into the waistband, worn backwards or all at once (at Junya Watanabe we found a record three ties snaking around the neck), a fresh take on this preppy staple adds an unexpected touch to tailoring.

(Striped) Pyjama party

An excuse not to get dressed at all this summer? Sounds like a dream.
