Swedish actor Rebecca Ferguson's look for Dune: Part Two's Paris photocall is plucked from the Givenchy archives

While Zendaya’s red carpet looks for the Dune: Part Two promotional tour appear to have been plucked from a fashion-forward future, Rebecca Ferguson’s look for yesterday’s photocall in Paris came from the not-so-distant past. Namely, Givenchy’s 2010 couture collection. The dress, with its cascading lace, cinched corset and matching embellished jacket, is further proof that the Swedish actress is unafraid to make a drop-the-mic statement on the red carpet.

Pulled by Ferguson’s stylist, Tom Eerebout, from the Givenchy archive, the look first appeared smack dab in the centre of designer Riccardo Tisci’s run at the French fashion house. The collection from which it came found its inspiration in Frida Kahlo’s rumoured obsessions: religion, sensuality and the human body. Practically, the design is quintessential Tisci, with its meticulous embellishments and darkly romantic aura. Ferguson finished the look with a tousled up-do and sculptural platform boots.

Here’s hoping for more moments from fashion history as the fashion-forward Dune II promo tour continues.
