Josephine Skriver has spent years collecting jewellery with meaning. Now she is making it. The Danish supermodel speaks exclusively to Vogue Scandinavia about her debut fine jewellery line

When one thinks of a model launching a brand, it is quite usual to assume it would be something in the realm of beauty. After all, Miranda Kerr has Kora Organics, Jasmine Tookes has Brunel, and Kelly Gale has Chandra Beauti. It is a breath of fresh air to see a model branch out of the beauty realm into something with more permanence and a little more sparkle.

In just over a week, Danish supermodel and former Victoria's Secret angel Josephine Skriver, alongside Copenhagen-based brand The Jewellery Room, will unveil her debut fine jewellery line. Divided into two select collections, for the model, such a venture has been a long time in the making. "I remember the day my aunt handed me my grandma's wedding ring when I was 18," Skriver says. "She felt I was old enough. I thought it was so beautiful, and it was such a big moment, like, 'Oh, I've entered this space of importance.' It really changed the way I looked at jewellery."
