As Vogue Scandinavia's latest digital cover star, Swedish creator and entrepreneur Janni Delér brings together high fashion with high altitude. Here, she shares her tried-and-true tips for mastering the ski season – from dressing smart to winding down

For our latest digital cover, Swedish creator and entrepreneur Janni Delér returned to her natural habitat: the slopes. Having grown up on skis and later toured the world with professional freeskier Jon Olsson, Delér knows her way around snow, speed and style. Between cosy lodge breaks and après-ski massages, she shared her five golden rules for making the most of ski season – Scandinavian style.

1

Dress for the weather

“There’s nothing worse than being too cold or too warm on the slopes,” says Delér. Her fix? Layers. “Always wear pieces you can easily take off or add on, and check the forecast before heading out.” Smart layering keeps you comfortable from first lift to last run.

2

Tighten those ski boots

“I always make sure my ski boots are really tight,” she says. “That way, I can actually feel the turns – and it’s easier to push harder if you like that kind of thing,” she laughs. “Adrenaline junkie here!”

Pack snacks (especially with kids)

Delér’s ultimate mum hack? Chocolate. “When skiing with kids, always have a few pieces in your pocket. It keeps energy up and makes the lift rides a lot smoother.”

Make lunch count

A scenic pit stop isn’t just indulgent – it’s essential. “Plan a nice lunch break,” she advises. “Find a cozy spot where you actually want to sit for a while. You’ll feel recharged for the afternoon runs.”

5

Recover right

“The best feeling after a long ski day is a massage or a sauna,” Delér says. “Your body can be so sore, so I try to treat myself to at least one massage on every ski trip. It makes such a difference.”
