Sequin-season is upon us, so let the show-goers guide you to the best sparkly party looks

It is officially sequin season, the most wonderful time of year. This season, we're reframing the way that we view sparkles – evolving from unofficial uniform for nights out, to sparkling headliner of our day-to-day ensembles. Take the autumn/winter collections, for example, where sequin trousers mixed with soft knits and sparkling embellishments elevate everyday staples.

When sourcing ways to wear our sequin pieces beyond the dance floor, an array of dazzling disco-dressing on the streets has offered up abundant inspiration. In Paris, a sparkling midi skirt may catch the lights just-so on your nights out, but it is just as good at brightening up your office attire. Try pairing sequins with more masculine cuts and modest accessories – think an oversized blazer and a pair of opaque tights. Then there are the many ways to layer a sparkly see-through dress over something minimal and skin-tight on our next night out, or wide black trousers and fitted roll-neck, as pictured in Copenhagen.

Still pondering to wear to looming office parties and holiday get-togethers? Peruse our favourite examples of sparkly ensembles below:
