House of Dagmar - SS23

By Josefin Forsberg

Effortlessly elevating everyday ensembles, House of Dagmar's models don sleek silhouettes and floor skimming skirts for spring/summer 2023

What characterises House of Dagmar is the perennial nature of the brand's collections. It is seen in the reoccurring soft tailoring and signature knitwear. In the way it cements itself in neutral colour ways, with the odd injection of gentle contrasts – which for spring / summer 2023 ranges from deep saffron to a diluted pistachio. This subdued combination of colours, textures, sculptural stripes and the odd cocooning coat makes the collection easy to combine, transitioning from season to season.

Yet, while based in swathing fabrics and floor-skimming silhouettes, certain pieces boast a structural appeal – cinched at the waist and sharp shouldered. It is a collection made not for the woman revelling in resorts, but who leads a busy life in the bustle city during the summer. She is, as brand director Sofia Wallenstam puts it, "a woman on the run with a relaxed, but put-together outfit. She wants to feel comfortable and relaxed but modern and with exclusive and long lasting materials." This is best exemplified in the nipped-in blazers and crisp cottons, styled with fuzzy grey knitwear and wide-legged trousers.

You can always count on House of Dagmar to deliver a collection of present pieces that are as beautiful as they are useful and as for the standout this season, Wallenstam highlights the upcoming outerwear. "Both our new trench coat, which I believe will be a long time favourite in the collection," she says, "but also our padded leather jacket and our double outer wear."
