Milan Design Week stands as the premier event for design enthusiasts, where the intersection of innovation, culture, and craftsmanship takes centre stage. In 2025, the city will once again transform into a vibrant platform for global design talent, showcasing an impressive array of exhibitions and installations that push the boundaries of creativity.

This year, Milan promises a dynamic blend of forward-thinking concepts, historical references, and experimental design, all within some of the city's most iconic venues. From exclusive collaborations to immersive artistic expressions, the exhibits provide an opportunity to witness the evolution of design firsthand.

From a pop-up gelateria by Georg Jensen to Marimekko’s bed-bound design collab, these 12 exhibitions and installations at Milan Design Week 2025 are the stop-offs you’ll want to put in your calendar.

Gelateria Danese by Georg Jensen

Georg Jensen returns to Milan Design Week to debut Gelateria Danese – a pop-up ice cream café at Spazio Maiocchi that merges sterling silver craftsmanship with everyday rituals. A new Art Deco-inspired collection of coupes, espresso saucers and spoons is presented alongside Scandinavian ice cream by Copenhagen-based chef Chiara Barla and coffee from local Danish roaster Prolog. At its heart: silver spoons handcrafted by Georg Jensen’s in-house silversmiths, reviving a long-held tradition. Select designs will be available for purchase during the event.

Hermès' newness for the home

At Milan Design Week, Hermès once again demonstrates its quiet mastery of home and interior design with an exhibition in Brera, curated by Charlotte Macaux Perelman and Alexis Fabry. Known for its craftsmanship across leather, textiles and tableware, the French maison has steadily carved a place in the world of interiors – not with spectacle, but with intention. This year, expect an intimate presentation of finely wrought pieces, including exclusive drinking glasses and a graphic plaid.

Kasthall in bloom

In a quiet tribute to the soft awakening of Scandinavian spring, Kasthall and Astrid Textiles present a collaborative exhibition curated by A Studio Between. Set in Milan’s Brera district, the space brings together two poetic installations: Anemon in Spring, inspired by a 1991 aquarelle from Kasthall’s archives, and Textures of Spring, showcasing Astrid’s ongoing textile experiments. A serene invitation to slow down and connect with the tactile beauty of natural materials.

Gucci's Bamboo Encounters

For Milan Design Week, Gucci presents Bamboo Encounters, an exhibition set within the Chiostri di San Simpliciano, curated by 2050+ and architect Ippolito Pestellini Laparelli. Drawing from the House’s storied use of bamboo—first introduced in the 1940s and now one of its most iconic design signatures – the exhibition invites artists and designers from around the globe to explore the material’s many meanings, both past and present.

Marimekko goes to bed

During Milan Design Week 2025, Marimekko teams up with New York-based artist Laila Gohar for an immersive installation at Teatro Litta. Centered around a grand bed, the exhibition showcases playful, bedroom-inspired items curated by Gohar, featuring Marimekko’s iconic archive stripes by Maija Isola.

The capsule collection includes vibrant pyjama sets, sleeping masks, bedding, and ceramics, inspired by Marimekko’s archival prints. Gohar, who has a personal connection with Marimekko, drew inspiration from the brand’s vast pattern archive, giving new life to timeless prints from the '60s and '70 and, in doing so, merging her own style with Marimekko’s joyful ethos.

Saint Laurent revives archival sketches

For Milan Design Week 2025, Saint Laurent and Anthony Vaccarello unveil a unique collaboration with legendary designer Charlotte Perriand. The “Saint Laurent-Charlotte Perriand” exhibition showcases four exceptional Perriand furniture pieces, dating from 1943 to 1967, previously existing only as prototypes or sketches.

Saint Laurent has reissued these designs in limited editions, including three pieces originally created for Perriand’s personal homes and a diplomat’s residence, as well as the ‘Table Mille-Feuilles,’ produced in full scale for the first time. This collaboration underscores the House’s dedication to preserving design heritage and honours Yves Saint Laurent’s lifelong admiration for Perriand’s pure modernism.The limited-edition pieces are available on a made-to-order basis.

Euroluce at Salone Del Mobile

Milan Design Week 2025 will once again cast a spotlight – literally – on the transformative power of light. Among this year’s standout highlights is the debut edition of the Euroluce International Lighting Forum, taking place on April 10th and 11th. More than a technical showcase, the forum explores light as an emotional and aesthetic force: how it shapes our moods, spaces, and sense of comfort. Expect engaging talks and global voices debating the future of lighting design. It’s a must-see for anyone curious about how illumination becomes an art form.

Etro celebrates 40 years of Arnica

At its Brera boutique, Etro invites visitors on a multisensory journey into Arnica – a jacquard textile that has been a signature of the house for four decades, created from just five vibrant threads: yellow, green, red, turquoise and white. Throughout three immersive rooms, the exhibition traces the material’s evolution from concept to craft, merging imagination, heritage, and artistic wanderlust. Celebrating 40 years of Etro’s icon, the experience culminates with a gift for visitors: a stool crafted from Arnica fabric, a tangible token of the brand’s poetic path through design.

Louis Vuitton unveils latest home collections

Long celebrated for revolutionising travel with its iconic trunks, Louis Vuitton continues its innovative dialogue with design during Milan Design Week 2025. Taking over an entire floor of its newly opened boutique at Via Montenapoleone 2 – designed by Peter Marino Architect –the Maison unveils its latest Home Collections. These are anchored in five pillars: Objets Nomades, Signature Collection, Exception Gaming, Home Decoration & Textiles, and Table Arts. The boutique also marks a culinary first: the debut of Louis Vuitton’s restaurant in Italy, DAV by DaVittorio, helmed by the renowned Cerea family, as well as its second café, following Taormina. For those seeking more, the Objets Nomades collection will also be on display at Palazzo Serbelloni from April 8th to 13th, showcasing a refined fusion of heritage, creativity, and artisanal mastery.

Design You Can Feel from Asus

ASUS and Dezeen present Design You Can Feel at Milan Design Week, featuring an interactive installation by Studio INI.
Set beneath the 1920s Galleria Meravigli’s striking curved glass ceiling, the installation responds to visitors’ movements, with wing-like, semi-transparent panels opening and closing as they pass through, creating a dynamic experience that bridges technology and design.

Prada Frames goes In Transit

Prada Frames presents In Transit, a symposium curated by Formafantasma, examining the complex relationship between the natural environment and design. From 6th to 8th April, the event will unfold aboard the Arlecchino train, recently restored by Fondazione FS Italiane, and in Milan’s historic Padiglione Reale. The programme will explore infrastructure as a dynamic system shaping movement – of people, goods, data, and power – through a series of sessions in these iconic spaces.

Longchamp

Longchamp unveils a new creative collaboration with furniture designer Pierre Renart at Milan Design Week, from 7-13 April 2025. This marks Renart’s debut at the prestigious event, as well as his first exploration of combining wood and leather in his designs.

A graduate of the École Boulle in 2011, Renart has been exclusively represented by Maison Parisienne, showcasing his work in exhibitions worldwide. Known for his innovative approach, he blends traditional woodworking techniques with modern technologies to create furniture that merges aesthetic beauty with technical precision.
