The legendary model makes (another) return from retirement especially for Gucci, as the face of Sabato De Sarno's latest High Jewellery offering

It's Gucci, it's the Chateau Marmont, it's Daria Werbowy. Talk about a holy trinity for fashion folk – one that could only be conjured up by the fresh genius that is the Italian house's creative director Sabato De Sarno.

40-year-old Werbowy officially retired from modelling in 2016 after a decade's reign as one of the most sought-after runway castings, so she naturally sparked a small frenzy when she re-emerged last year – at De Sarno's beck and call for his first jewellery instalment.

Now, Werbowy makes another return from hiatus exclusively for Gucci: as the face of De Sarno's second jewellery offering, starring in a series of portraits by David Sims. Shot in the dappled Los Angeles light, Werbowy drips in pieces from the Gucci Allegoria collection: the latest selection of bijoux that captures nature's cyclical transformations through the four seasons.

Submerged in the Chateau Marmont's fabled pool, Werbory wears little else but the meticulously crafted pieces, scattered with antique and precious stones: yellow sapphire, tourmalines, emeralds and diamonds. A suitably sparkling second chapter in De Sarno's jewellery journey at Gucci.
