Nothing rivals the satisfaction of a beautiful winter coat – the way it anchors an outfit and sets the tone for the season. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been moving through Stockholm in search of the high-street pieces that rise above the rest. This edit brings together standouts from Max Mara, COS, Toteme and Stand Studio: coats with enduring appeal, thoughtful design and cosy warmth you’ll rely on all winter long.
Scroll on for the full round-up.
Toteme

At first glance: This piece is a stunner. The Stracciatella coat – inspired by my favourite gelato flavour – features a minimalist design and feels every bit as comfy as it looks. It fastens with a simple hook, yet looks just as beautiful worn open, creating a more slouchy and relaxed silhouette.
Ideal for: If you're looking for an investment-worthy coat with a distinctive, standout print

At first glance: I was instantly taken with this oversized grey wool coat. Cut floor-length and double-breasted, it has a beautifully structured silhouette and a wool-blend fabrication that feels unexpectedly plush. It carries a weight and presence that set it apart from your standard winter coat.
Ideal for: If you're looking for a versatile coat in a classic colour, this one is a perfect match. Its generous fit also lends itself well to layering, keeping you extra warm and cosy throughout the winter months.

At first glance: The Teddy Shearling jacket may sit just outside the traditional coat category, but it more than earns its place here. Toteme’s laid-back, ultra-cosy design fastens with sculptural metal clasps – a considered detail that punctuates the jacket’s soft, cloud-like shearling and quietly elevates the entire silhouette.
Ideal for: If you're in the market for a more casual winter coat alternative, this would be my top pick. It's warm, plush and effortlessly stylish.

At first glance: I felt an immediate pull towards this jacket – it was the very first coat I wanted to try on. I've avoided white coats for years because of their impracticality, but the moment i slipped this one on, I realised I've been missing out. There's something about it that awakens my inner Cameron Diaz in The Holiday alter ego. This warm wool-blend coat has an oversized fit, and my favourite detail is the statement collar – a subtle detail that makes the biggest difference.
Ideal for: Anyone searching for an overcoat that gives any outfit that certain je ne sais quoi.

At first glance: What first drew me to this jacket is its rich chocolate brown colour. This wrap coat has a warm shearling interior and a smooth leather exterior, creating perfectly balanced coat. Similarly to the other coats it has a oversized fit, but this jacket is particularly slouchy (which I absolutly love).
Ideal for: Anyone who's in the market for a warm winter jacket with a timeless appeal.
Stand Studio

At first glance: Stand Studio's Monica coat really surprised me, and easily ranks among my top five pieces from this edit. The soft, glossy black leather contrasts beautifully with the fluffy white fur on the collar and cuffs, and the belted waist creates a very flattering, tailored silhouette
Ideal for: Anyone seeking a standout, investment-worthy piece for the winter season.

At first glance: This long faux-fur coat checks all the boxes. It has a relaxed fit and a lovely design details, like the top-right pocket that perfectly complements the lapels.
Ideal for: Anyone looking for a refined faux-fur coat to elevate their winter wardrobe – this is the one to add to your cart.

At first glance: A glossy, straight coat with and oversized fit. It's a well-structured, creating a flattering silhouette, while the faux-fur collar adds a playful contrast.
Ideal for: Anyone looking for a structured coat with a thoughtful, well-balanced design.

At first glance: Much like Toteme’s Teddy Shearling, Stand Studio’s Valentina style is technically a jacket that has slipped into this roundup – and rightfully so. With discreetly concealed pockets and some of the softest, most convincing faux fur I’ve encountered, it is both refined and irresistably tactile.
Ideal for: Anyone seeking a cosy, ultra-warm jacket to keep you snug all winter long.
COS

At first glance: This double-breasted piece has so many redeeming qualities. It features a beautifully clean silhouette, and the fact that it has a standing collar makes it extra cosy when facing the winter chill. The sleeves are intentionally wide – a design detail that's both striking and practical, offering ease of movement and plenty of room for layering.
Ideal for: A no-brainer for anyone who is looking for a simple yet elegant coat to rely on all winter long.

At first glance: A camel coat is a true winter classic, and no roundup would be complete without it. This version found at COS is crafted from a wool-blend and cut in an effortlessly oversized shape.
Ideal for: Anyone looking for a timeless, simple and alegant coat to carry them through the winter months.

At first glance: This is a standout coat with a sleek, slimmer fit. The shearling collar adds an unexpected design detail — and I'm definitely here for it!
Ideal for: Anyone seaching for a dressy evening coat, or simply just looking to add a statement piece to their winter wardrobe

At first glance: I'm not usually one for bright colours, but this tomato-red coat (THE colour of the season) has earned a spot on my wishlist. Crafted from a premium wool, it feels luxurious, and I particularly like the wide notch lapels.
Ideal for: Someone who appreciates high-quality coats and isn't afraid to add a bold pop of colour to their wardrobe.
At first glance: Like the Teddy Shearling jacket from Toteme, the Valentina jacket from Stand Studio has sneaked its way into this roundup – and it truly earns its spot. It has perfectly concealed pockets on both sides and boasts the softest, most realistic faux fur I've ever felt.
Ideal for: Anyone seeking a cosy, ultra-warm jacket to keep you snug all winter long.
Max Mara

At first glance: The Teddy Bear Coat is an investment piece like no other. Inspired by a Max Mara archive piece form the 80s, it's both practical and fashion-forward. This is the only coat I already have hanging in my closet, and it's one I'd happily invest in again and again for its warmth and timeless style.
Ideal for: Anyone looking for a long-term investment coat that you'll reach for season after season

At first glance: This midi coat has a lovely colour and texture with a classic double-row closure. The coat is made of wool and alpaca which creates a very fluffy feel. This coat is more fitted than the other options that I tried from Max Mara, but it still has a rather straight silhoutte that allows for some extra space for movement and a thick jumper underneath.
Ideal for: Anyone on the lookout for a classic coat with a more formal shape

At first glance: The coat I didn't know I needed: a classic pea coat! The moment I slipped this on, I fell in love. Its nautical origins are evident in the design, with broad lapels, a double-breasted front, large buttons and heavy wool. This Max Mara version is absolute perfection
Ideal for: Anyone looking for a shorter coat with a timeless, classic shape

At first glance: Another peacoat from Max Mara, except that this time it's in a classic marine blue colour. My favourite detail about this jacket is the adorable back-belt that allows you to adjust the waist.
Ideal for: If you're looking for a lighter winter jacket with a classic design.
