Our senior beauty editor Josefin Forsberg put the newest member of Oribe’s repair squad to the test – and found a leave-in fix that really does its best work while you do nothing at all
Oribe’s Gold Lust line has been the brand’s “gold standard” for tired tresses ever since the Nourishing Hair Oil went viral in 2014, spawning a full roster of restorative shampoo, conditioner and masks designed to rewind damage rather than just disguise it. “The collection has always been about transformation – restoring hair to its healthiest, most radiant state,” explains Jennifer Smith, Oribe’s VP of Product Creation. "With the Gold Lust Restorative Night Crème for Hair, we wanted to extend that care from day to night."
The new Restorative Night Crème is product number 10 in that line-up, created to bring that same damage-repair into your nighttime routine. With bold claims of being pillow-proof (no residue in sight) and a rare no-rinse formula, it promises results by morning without the usual faff. Naturally, we were curious to put it to the test.
Ahead, our senior beauty editor Josefin Forsberg's unfiltered tried-and-tested take on this 'Sleeping Beauty' product.
What it is
A no-rinse, overnight treatment from Oribe’s cult-favourite Gold Lust collection, the Restorative Night Crème is designed to work while you sleep – literally. This leave-in formula claims to reverse up to two years of damage, repair 98 per cent of split ends overnight, and leave hair 92 per cent smoother and softer after just one use. And the best part? There’s no need to wash it out come morning.
"Who doesn’t like to sleep in!" exclaims Smith when I speak to hear about the revolutionary new formula. "From the beginning, we knew this product had to deliver high performance results without adding complexity to your nightly routine," she says. As such the quick-absorbing, no-rinse formula was carefully developed to feel invisible in the hair. "It won’t transfer to your pillow, leave buildup, or interfere with your style. It’s designed for ease; apply it at night and wake up ready to go."

My experience:
Normally, I skip overnight hair masks. The next-morning rinse negates the whole indulgent appeal for me (I'm 'team evening-shower' myself). So colour me thrilled to discover Oribe’s take is a leave-in treatment. I smoothed it through my dry lengths before bed with zero residue or greasiness, and woke up with what I can only describe as princess-level shine after a quick brush through.
It’s worth noting that my hair isn’t bleached or especially damaged, but even so, the results were noticeable. Smoother. Softer. Less frazzled ends. And the eucalyptus scent had me flicking my hair throughout the day like someone in a slow-mo shampoo commercial to savour the subtle whiffs. For those with brittle, over-processed strands? I imagine this crème might be your fairytale ending.
Why I love it:
Beyond the glass-like shine and softness, it’s the effortlessness of it all. This product truly delivers high performance results without adding complexity to my nightly routine. In a sea of time-consuming treatments that demand rigid commitment, this one lets you sleep in while still delivering healthy-looking hair the next day. It’s both a practical fix and a moment of care. And there wasn't a ruined pillow care in sight.

The takeaway:
Oribe’s Gold Lust Night Crème is lazy-girl luxury in the best way. Whether your hair’s been through the wringer or just needs a little TLC, this leave-in hero slips seamlessly into your routine and works while you don’t.
