Designers' Nest - AW22

By Allyson Shiffman

The next flock of Scandi designers took centre stage in a presentation that wowed

The talents presented at this year’s Designers' Nest are primed to take off and fly. Luckily there’s plenty of space in the monstrous Bella Arena, in which today’s presentation took place.

An annual showcase of exceptional graduates from the Nordic’s top design schools, Designer’s Nest can always be counted on for a mega-jolt of energy. Ranging from utterly covetable to outrageously high-concept, what all of this year’s collections had in common was a fastidious attention to craft and detail. This was evident from the inventive handmade knitwear of Mikaela Mårtensson – which wraps itself around the figure – to the superhero extravaganza of Finnish designer Leevi Ikäheimo.

Meanwhile, Bror August Vestbø’s All-In Studio, which offers modern-day club kid attire – crochet and cutouts, sheer and stringy – has already found an international audience. Filippa Agaton’s take on sporty elegance is similarly attracting a healthy buzz. This is the future of fashion, and it’s quite the flock.
