We are in a new age of aging thanks to Kérastase

Ageing well is no longer about chasing youth at all costs. With the new Chronologiste range, Kérastase taps into beauty’s longevity era, applying a more intelligent, scalp-led approach to long-term hair health

Women don’t age the way they used to. Twenty years ago, the pop culture shorthand for life after 50 looked a lot like The Golden Girls: white curls, cardigans, and a retreat from centre stage. Today, those references feel dated. The women shaping our ideas of ageing now are city-dwelling, sharp-witted, and visibly vital. Carrie Bradshaw and her friends have grown up, but refused to grow old.

That shift reflects a broader rethinking of what ageing can look and feel like. Lon gevity has entered the beauty zeitgeist with a focus not on stopping time, but on living better for longer. This is the mindset behind Kérastase’s newly reimagined Chronologiste range. Hair, like skin, ages. It loses density, shine, strength, and resilience over time. Address the surface alone and you’ll never reach the root of the issue. Pun intended.

At the heart of the range is the Overnight Youth Serum, a leave-in treatment designed to work with the body’s natural nighttime repair cycle. Powered by what Kérastase calls its “Caviar of Longevity”, a pairing of Pro-Xy lane and Ochrophyta algae, the serum works where ageing actually starts: at the scalp and inside the hair fibre, targeting the five visible signs of hair ageing in one step: dryness, dullness, frizz, loss of volume, and thinning. The Overnight Youth Serum sits within a wider Chronologiste routine, alongside the Bain Régénérant shampoo, the Masque In tense Régénérant, and the Longevity Potion, a targeted monthly scalp treatment. Together, they mirror a skincare approach to hair care: cleanse properly, nourish deeply, then use focused treatments to maintain long term health. The emphasis is preventative, layered, and, crucially, consistent.

That philosophy is embodied by the new face of Chronologiste, Demi Moore. “Demi is fearless, not only in her iconic roles but in the way she embraces her individuality and shares her journey with honesty and grace,” says Amber Zak Yopp, global brand president of Kérastase.

Moore’s career, hair included, has always been about agency and self-definition. “My life has been shaped by love, growth, and new experiences,” she says, “and my hair has been with me through it all. There’s a real freedom in letting your hair simply be itself and allowing it to tell your story.”
