Where Copenhagen's designers actually eat during fashion week

All this fashion business is thirsty work. Between back-to-back fittings, last-minute show preparations, and the whirlwind of Copenhagen's Fashion Week, it's no wonder the city's designers have a handful of favourite spots where they pause to refuel.

From neighbourhood coffee shops that serve as unofficial meeting rooms to restaurants perfect for post-show dinners, and bars where the industry unwinds long after the lights go down, these are the places that come into their own once the shows are over.

“Just five minutes from my studio in the centre of Copenhagen is one of my favourite bars, Floss. I'd describe it as an institution from the 1980s – one of those places that has kept its character over the years. Whenever I need a break from the studio, I meet friends there. They also happen to serve my favourite drink of summer 2026: an iced White Russian. The toilets are completely covered in layers of old graffiti in every imaginable colour. For some reason, I'm always drawn to them, and almost every time I'm there, I end up taking a photo of a colour combination that catches my eye. The image I'm sharing is one of those snapshots, and the colours ended up directly influencing this collection. Thank you, Floss!"

"To be honest, we don't have much time to enjoy the city during Fashion Week. But if we were to play a little game of where we would go if we had the time, we do love Cafe Intime, the bakery Kani and the underground museum Cisternerne, currently showing Marina Abramovic. We also really like Gaza Grill in Kødbyen, which serves Palestinian food, and Ismageriet next door for ice cream."

"Lucile and I are obsessed with Grums in Nørrebro. We went there every day while we were location scouting for the show (Grums is right next to Nørrebrohallen, where we are presenting the spring/summer 2027 show). We always get the walnut bread with butter, cheese, jam and an egg. Lucile gets an americano, and I get an espresso tonic (so refreshing!). We also exclusively eat 7-Eleven slushies and hot dogs when preparing for our shows – we love the one at Gammeltorv 6, 1457 . Tip: They also have really good floss at that 7-Eleven! I always stock up on it when I visit, haha."

"We love places with personality, and Martini House has exactly that. It feels both nostalgic and fresh, with timeless Italian-American classics, amazing martinis and an atmosphere that puts you at ease. From the interiors to the menu, everything feels thoughtfully considered without trying too hard. The food is generous, the dishes are great to be shared, and the energy makes it the kind of place that lives up to the hype."

"Bar Vitrine is a go-to for wine, and has the best Indian food in town. Also, for wine, we often go to Den lille blå, it is just around the corner from our studio, and you can find us there after work or fittings. For a late dinner, I recommend Posh Izakaya, but if you are in the mood for coffee, there is no place better than Dallas in Slagelsesgade."

"If I do find myself at a bar, it's almost always Nimb Bar. Tucked away beside Tivoli, one of the world's oldest amusement parks, in the heart of Copenhagen, it has a quiet elegance that keeps me coming back. Over the years, I've spent many memorable evenings there, and it's become my favourite place to end a dinner in the city. Their signature drink, the Eclipse, is always my first choice after a wonderful dinner in the city. Beautifully crafted and elegantly balanced, it perfectly captures the atmosphere of Nimb. For anyone visiting Copenhagen, Nimb Bar offers a quiet sense of luxury and a distinctly local experience. It's a place I return to time and time again.”

"For many years, there was never time to eat during fashion week as it was always one show after the next and if there was a break, it was spent reporting on the shows. So it was always more of a hot dog on the go from one of the many hot dog stands around town: quick and easy but not that healthy. I’d like to say that today it would be the very lovely Graziano on Værnedamsvej or my other local Granola that does great everything. Atelier September has always been another favourite, and I am excited to see Daphne, which will open during fashion week. However, the reality is probably that I will just grab whatever is close by because these are busy days. But there will be time for a coffee from Thiemers (my local bookstore that does good coffee) to keep me going."

"BAR on Kronborggade. We have been going there after our shows every fashion week to decompress and celebrate with the team. I don't drink alcohol, so I always have a soda and lots of water. Dzidra is amazing for their sodalike Kefir – that is my fave in town. Cafe Intime is always fabulous otherwise!"

"We love Locale 21, a city-centre hotspot just around the corner from our office. You always run into someone from the industry there, and last year we even had our after-show dinner there. It’s definitely one of our favourite places in town for pasta."

"I love to go to Studio X Kitchen, it's central but still secluded and right next to King's Garden. The staff is nice, and it’s a good place to gather your thoughts. I usually order an iced americano with oat milk."

"My Fashion Week survival spot is Thiemers Magasin on Tullinsgade. I go there whenever I need a moment away from the pace of the week. It allows me to sit quietly on my own, recharge and disconnect for a while. During Fashion Week, it is easy to become overstimulated by constantly being online and surrounded by people, so having somewhere that offers a moment of calm feels essential.

I also love going for a swim by the ramparts in Christianshavn. I live with my family just behind the ramparts, so we often go swimming there together. It gives me a sense of calm and helps me clear my head. During Fashion Week, it is the perfect way to step out of the noise before returning to everything again.

Another place I enjoy visiting is Niko Café on the Paper Island. It offers a small pause from the rush of Fashion Week, and I am always drawn to its beautiful interiors and distinctive style. It is somewhere I can sit for a moment, slow down and simply enjoy the surroundings and just exist for a bit."

"Osteria 16 on Ravnsborggade is always my favourite, for so many reasons: The food is good and the staff are super nice – the owners, Morten and Emil, are cool. They make a mean Negroni (and have a great Negroni rule: no Negronis after midnight). They serve a fixed sharing menu so you don't have to be concerned with what to order. They have a good white Bourgogne (the last one on the list) and it doesn't matter if you're a party of two sitting at the window or ten people taking up half of the restaurant – the food and the service always deliver."

"One place I always find myself coming back to is LUN. It's one of those local spots that perfectly captures the spirit of Copenhagen: relaxed, welcoming, and effortlessly cool. The atmosphere is cosy, the food is consistently great, and the people who work there always make you feel at home. During fashion week, when everything moves at full speed, it's the kind of place where you can slow down for a moment, recharge, and soak up the city's energy."

"I usually go to Apollo Bar for either an early breakfast before the day starts or a late lunch between meetings. During Fashion Week everything moves so quickly, so it's one of the few places where I can pause for a moment. I normally order a coffee and whatever feels seasonal that day."

"One spot comes to mind straight away: Amator on Østerbro. It’s a small restaurant by my friend Mati Pichci who is well-known for his terrific omelette. It’s an intimate spot with a great atmosphere; I like it because it’s on the outskirts of the city and thus frequented by locals. Always good service and incredible food, and they also play a great selection of music with an old-school record player."

"During Copenhagen Fashion Week, our days are packed from early morning until late at night, so we tend to stay close to our favourite local spots. We’ve gathered all of them in our OpéraSport Copenhagen City Guide. But if we had to choose a few Fashion Week essentials, these would be our go-tos:

Morning coffee: Juno the Bakery for a flat white and their iconic cardamom bun before the day begins.

Lunch between shows: Bottega Barlie for a relaxed lunch and a quick reset between appointments.

Dinner: Bar Amore for great Italian food and atmosphere, or Royal Garden when we’re craving authentic Chinese dishes to share with the team.

After-show drinks: Bar Vitrine, where we like to wind down over a glass of wine and catch up with friends from the industry.
