Coachella is more than a mere music festival. Over time, the gathering has become a cultural and sartorial touchstone. This year was no different, with Scandinavia's style stars stealing the show. From Zara Larsson’s cheeky homeland tribute to Emili Sindlev’s modern cowgirl flair, Nordic tastemakers put their stamp on the desert’s most buzzed-about event

Festival diehards, brace yourselves: Coachella is in full swing, drawing top musicians and style enthusiasts to the heart of the Colorado Desert. Long hailed as a cradle of fresh trends, this time Nordic tastemakers not only attended the show, but stole it. Doubtful? See for yourself.

The party kicked off at the Revolve pool party in Palm Springs, where Emilia Silberg and Emili Sindlev basked in the California sun. Silberg opted for a polka-dot halter top and matching low-slung skirt – both anchored by the festival’s go-to footwear, cowboy boots. Sindlev, on the other hand, channeled Malibu Barbie in a neon-pink crochet beach dress layered over a vibrant one-piece.

After dark, Sindlev stepped out for Coachella’s opening night in her signature Western getup: a strappy dress, brown leather boots, and a denim Miu Miu hat, striking the perfect photo op by the Ferris wheel. Day two introduced a dash of Y2K sparkle, accessorised with a colour-coordinated bandana and sporty oval shades. Anchored by an oversized baby-pink T-shirt, her look confirmed she’s mastered the Paris Hilton guide to fearless fashion.

The engaged-to-be-married cover star couple Desiré Inglander and Mondo Duplantis were spotted canoodling on the Coachella premises as well. Inglander's Coachella look was a nostalgic ode to the 2016 aesthetic, consisting of a tie-front pointelle-knit and matching crochet shorts, complemented by a brown bag and belt.

There's no place like home, even for our international superstar Zara Larsson who made sure to bring a piece of Sweden on her voyage through the Colorado dessert. Teasing her upcoming single Pretty Ugly, our former cover star wore a bedazzled tennis cap featuring the Swedish flag which she paired with a beach-y white tank and a neon pink bikini. Safe to say, she looked pretty darn good.

Danish supermodel Josephine Skriver also took to the desert runway, pairing a bandana with a fringed black bag in true off-duty model style. On night two, Skriver pivoted to a colourful crochet top and baggy jeans celebrating her birthday with K-pop superstar Jennie Kim, who stunned in a sleek red cowboy outfit and metal-frame Acne Studios shades.

Iceland’s Grammy-winning artist Laufey wove her spell onstage, unveiling Silver Lining in a Chanel tweed tulle dress right off the spring/summer ’25 runway, paired with gleaming silver Mary Janes. Offstage, she opted for a baby-blue Chanel 25 handbag alongside an all-white Bode lace tennis set.
