Inspired by her own murals at her Swedish archipelago summer home, artist Clara Hallencreutz has partnered with Wallism on Heirloom Summer: a wallpaper collection of hand-painted botanicals designed to bring the beauty of Nordic nature indoors, all year round

Natural beauty is fleeting. Every spring and summer, flowers push through the darkness of the soil to grace us with their blooms, only to fade, wilt and return to the earth a matter of days later. While this cycle is part of nature's charm, it can also leave a garden feeling a little bare. Thanks to artist Clara Hallencreutz and Wallism, however, those blooms can now live on.

"Nothing lasts quite as briefly as a flower in bloom," says Hallencreutz, known for her artistic work in many mediums, including children's books. "By painting them, I can keep them close. These wallpapers are a way of preserving beauty throughout the year – creating gardens that never fade and blooms that never wilt."

As a fine artist, Hallencreutz has long been captivated by botanical forms. Whether expressed through photography, large-scale installations or oil paintings, flowers and foliage have become recurring motifs throughout her practice, carrying the power to evoke emotion, tell stories and celebrate beauty. Now, in collaboration with Wallism, she is bringing those motifs beyond the canvas and into the home with a wallpaper collection titled Heirloom Summer.

The collection traces its origins to Hallencreutz's summer house on the Swedish archipelago island of Dalarö, where she hand-painted vines, flowers, birds and foliage directly onto the walls. Those original murals have now been reimagined as wallpaper, allowing homes around the world to share the same sense of calm, character and connection to nature.

Across four distinctive designs, each based on Hallencreutz's original paintings, Heirloom Summer unfolds. Nordic Flora celebrates the wildflowers that dot Scandinavian landscapes, from snowdrops and wood anemones to lily of the valley, wild strawberries, daisies, cornflowers and buttercups. Emerald Trellis, designed to extend across both walls and ceilings, creates an immersive canopy of climbing vines overhead. Rambling Rose draws directly from the mural Hallencreutz painted in her summer house library, preserving the texture and character of every visible brushstroke. Finally, Oak Hollow takes inspiration from ancient oak trees and great tits, with birds and branches flowing freely across the design.

Throughout the collection, Hallencreutz's painterly hand remains unmistakable, with visible brushstrokes preserving the warmth, texture and individuality of each original artwork. The result is a collection that is both deeply personal and richly decorative, transforming walls into living works of art that bloom long after summer has passed.
