Henrik Vibskov transforms the Louis Poulsen showroom into a surreal space of light, colour and calm, reimagining Verner Panton’s design legacy for 3DaysofDesign 2025
A new kind of sanctuary is taking shape in central Copenhagen. Set within the Louise Poulsen showroom during 3DaysofDesign 2025, 'Circle Dome Square' invites visitors to pause, reflect and bask in a world of colour, form and light. The immersive textile installation is the brainchild of boundary-pushing Danish designer and artist Henrik Vibskov, and draws direct inspiration from Verner Panton’s iconic Panthella lamp — a design that has lit up Scandinavian homes since 1971.
Endorsed by Verner Panton Design AG, the installation offers a contemporary tribute to the legendary Danish designer’s spirit of experimentation. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Henrik Vibskov,” says Zorayda Perez Pedersen, CMO at Louis Poulsen. “He has created a captivating installation that fuses designer lighting and art, paying tribute to Verner Panton and his most iconic lamp design, the Panthella.”

For Vibskov, the connection is personal. “The Panthella lamp is one I grew up with in the 70s,” he recalls. “We had one designer lamp at home, and it was this one.” Known for his genre-defying creative output – spanning fashion, music and performance – Vibskov channels the same immersive energy into 'Circle Dome Square'. As he explains, “The concept was to combine shapes and colours into a larger structure using my chosen material – textiles – to create a design reminiscent of old-school cameras, focusing on a single unit. This is a space you can enter, where you can hopefully relax, take a breath, and enjoy your surroundings.”

The result is a surreal yet grounded moment of stillness amid the flurry of design week. Cocooned in bold hues and soft structure, visitors are invited to step inside the dome and disconnect from the outside world – a fitting homage to Panton’s love of playful, human-centric environments.

While Circle Dome Square is firmly rooted in the past, referencing the forms and philosophies of Panton’s heyday, it pulses with Vibskov’s unmistakable touch: irreverent, forward-thinking, and deeply sensory. “Circle Dome Square is a playful and somewhat visionary installation with a touch of surrealism,” says Vibskov, whose more than 50 fashion collections have long fused concept and craft.
