Finding the perfect pair of denim is one of life's greatest style triumphs. This autumn, I’m investing in three timeless silhouettes that strike the right balance between trend and longevity. Forget ultra-baggy cuts or skintight skinnies: this season belongs to the flare, the straight-leg and the wide-leg.
Scroll on to discover – and shop – the denim styles worth adding to your wardrobe now.
Flared Jeans: A '70s classic with modern appeal

Flared jeans never truly vanish from fashion’s radar – instead, they simply cycle back, stronger each time. A sase in point: Kendrick Lamar’s electrifying 2025 Super Bowl performance, where he donned Celine’s flared surf jeans. In the weeks that followed, Bella Hadid, Rihanna and Sydney Sweeney all stepped out in the statement silhouette, cementing its comeback.
This autumn, flares are the denim of choice for those looking to elongate their legs while injecting a subtle retro inflection into their wardrobe. Style them with heeled boots for polish or pared-back sneakers for effortless cool.
Wide-Leg Jeans: Effortless ease for everyday wear

For the past five years, one silhouette has reigned supreme in my wardrobe: the wide-leg jean. Equal parts versatile, comfortable and undeniably polished, it’s the style that carries me from desk to dinner with ease. By day, I pair them with loafers for a relaxed vibe or a pointy heel for a more elevated look.
My latest addition is a pair from Re/Done, and I can already tell they’ll be on heavy rotation throughout autumn and winter. A true wardrobe cornerstone.
Straight-Leg Jeans: A forever favourite

Few denim silhouettes are as iconic as the straight-leg jean. In the ’90s, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and Julia Roberts epitomised effortless cool in the cut — a timeless appeal that endures today.
Straight-leg jeans complement virtually any shoe, but this season, I'm especially drawn to pairing them with the Avenue Mid boots by Sania D'mina. Simple, flattering and endlessly versatile.
