The Arket woman is evolving, all thanks to the brand's recently appointed head of design and creative, Ella Soccorsi. "For me, I see the Arket woman as someone who lives a busy life – moving between work and family life, the city and nature," muses Soccorsi. For the designer, comfort, functionality, and durability are key and her aim is to build a wardrobe for the Arket woman that will last over time.

Soccorsi's first, newly-launched collection at the Arket helm, 'A New Bohemia', was born out of a longing for renewal. “We started with looking into counter-culture movements of the past, inspiring us to explore a new movement where new values, cultural forms, and sub-cultures of today can unfold,” says Soccorsi. “I wanted to create a collection that symbolises freedom and ease - embracing the enjoyment of life through freedom, community, simplicity, and connectivity with nature.”

The result? Earthy tactility, elongated silhouettes, natural materials, and organic shapes paired with crispy white essentials. “Products that make you feel relaxed and comfortable,” says Soccorsi. “I love the colour palette for the collection with soft neutrals that are easy to style together,” she continues. Seasonal styles set the tone with openwork knits, raw silk pieces and sand-coloured leather alongside the brand's signature staples. “As a Nordic-based brand I think we always have a layers-on-layers styling mindset. Adding a knit or a scarf depending on weather,” she notes.

As for what the designer herself will wear this spring? Soccorsi's eye is drawn to the tone setting A-line coat and knee-length shorts in a sand-coloured soft leather, describing the duo as “a look I will keep in my wardrobe to come back to year after year.” For a lighter layer, she reaches for the billowing linen blend coat, as a piece that captures the “relaxed, soft, and elongated look of the collection.” Finally, the brown double leather shoulder bag will be firmly nestled under her arm for years to come.
