Norwegian creative Annabel Rosendahl is launching Ravn, a jewellery brand of pendants and medallions that embody her Scandi-minimal aesthetic. Vogue Scandinavia has the exclusive first look
Medallions have long been close to Annabel Rosendahl’s heart. Literally in the sense that a it sits on the chest and figuratively in that it reminds her of a piece cherished by her mother. “My mother has worn a gold medallion for as long as I can remember. It is special to her as she bought it with her first salary,” says Rosendahl. “I have always loved that piece, not just because it looks beautiful, but for what it represents: something personal.” It was that very piece that served as the starting point for the Norwegian stylist and content creator’s jewellery brand: Ravn. The name, too, has a personal meaning; it’s her middle name. “I wanted a name that felt authentic and connected to my own identity – minimal, strong, and a bit enigmatic,” she says. “That balance reflects the jewellery itself.”

There’s a pleasing, sculptural simplicity to Ravn’s first offering, which embodies Rosendahl’s own penchant for strong silhouettes and a certain Scandinavian minimalism. The debut collection consists of a handful of medallions and pendants in to-the-point shapes, rendered in both sterling silver and 14-carat solid gold. Each piece comes with both a chain and a silk scarf, to be styled to the wearer’s whim for endless occasions.
Rosendahl has been exploring the idea of her own brand since back in 2018, but it didn’t crystallise until she found the perfect production partner; a factory in Bangkok owned by a Norwegian woman. “They are incredibly skilled and true perfectionists who pay attention to every little detail, just as I do,” says Rosendahl, who sketches each piece by hand. “The process has taught me a lot about patience and precision. It takes time to translate something from a sketch into a finished piece, especially when the designs are sculptural and minimal, where every curve and proportion matters.”

For Rosendahl, jewellery has always been a way in which to “add character” to an outfit, balancing her penchant for considered simplicity. “I love how these pieces can instantly elevate even the most understated outfit,” she says, noting that the silk scarf is a bit more “festive and playful” whilst the chain or cord is “perfect for everyday wear”. For those looking for something a little extra and personalised, Ravn will offer custom orders, for which clients can add diamonds, precious stones or additional gold finishes.
While medallions and pendants will remain Ravn’s signature, Rosendahl has plans to expand into earrings and rings. “Looking ahead, I hope to grow the brand slowly and intentionally, while staying completely hands-on with every detail,” she says. The constant, she said, is the timeless, sculptural aesthetic, giving way to the sort of pieces one will cherish and perhaps even pass down.
Ravn is now available via its website.
