No stranger to rogue red-carpet dressing, Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård's latest ensemble truly has us flipping out

Alexander Skarsgård found himself on Vogue’s best dressed list for one reason: his enduring commitment to flying the fashion freak flag. Now back on the press circuit promoting The Moment as Charli xcx’s right-hand brat, Skarsgård stayed true to his subversive style by bringing a completely inappropriate, somehow incredibly sexy shoe to the Sundance Film Festival.

Skarsgård attended the premiere of The Moment wearing a full look from Valentino’s pre-autumn 2026 collection. On top, all seemed sleek and the right side of off-beat for the red carpet: an oversized beige trench coat, a mustard and khaki panelled track jacket over a shirt and floral tie, flowing pleated suit trousers. But despite the snowy Utah setting, Skarsgård opted in and elected to wear the Valentino flip-flops, a studded thong-style shoe. He sported the on-trend naked pedicure, too.

While promoting his BDSM biker movie Pillion, the Swedish actor and his stylist, Harry Lambert, had a lot of fun with his more provocative and playful sartorial sensibilities. At the BFI London Film Festival, he took the leather daddy look up a notch, wearing a full look from Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s fall 2025 collection; a white, backless halterneck shirt with a skinny leather tie, with tight, lace-up leather pants, and chunky, round-toe Jimmy Choo boots. At Cannes Film Festival, he brought his kinky boots and a naughty, boot-licking, graphic vintage t-shirt. On British daytime television show Lorraine, he wore cheeky short-shorts and socks from S.S. Daly, doing a little twirl and a curtsey. It looks like this vibe is only set to continue, and thank god—some fun and freakdom amid the Old Hollywood style and same-y full looks is much-needed.

Appearing in the meta pop girl mockumentary The Moment, directed by Aidan Zamiri and also starring Charli xcx (one of the Swedish actor’s favourite musicians), Skarsgård plays the haughty, just-about-doesn’t-get-it director.

Chief Brat, resident red carpet fashion freak, true committer to the bit: Alexander Skarsgård, you’ll always be the moment.
