“Tarot cards and horoscopes are so 2022," says the cover star of Vogue Scandinavia's Apr-May Issue 11, the iconic Zara Larsson. Step into some jazzy bowling shoes and slip on a striped shirt as the pins become Larsson's guide to the future
When it comes to Zara Larsson and the internet, there have been no shortage of "she said what?" moments. There was her Twitter contribution to the viral debate about the Swedish tradition of feeding (or not feeding) young guests, her TikTok statement about why there should be the freedom to talk, laugh and generally be "chitty chatty" while at the cinema, and most controversially: her diatribe via Instagram that she "absolutely cannot stand" bowling.
"I would seriously like someone 13% less if we were going on a date and they were suggesting 'let’s go bowling”, she mused via the platform, alongside a mirror selfie. "You want me to put my fingers up in there and wear ugly shoes? No thanks. And don't get me started on the awkward walk back after you've had your turn," she added to the anti-bowling spiral.
So when it came time to shoot Larsson's cover story, naturally, Vogue Scandinavia took to Birka Bowling in Stockholm to see if the pop star could be converted to the classic game. To make it a little more up her alley? Behind the 10 pins is a mystical, fortune-telling twist.
