On a wintry Wednesday evening, as snow blanketed Stockholm, Volvo Cars unveiled its newest and most ambitious electric model yet: the Volvo EX60. Set against the powdery pine trees of Värmdö, guests retreated from the sharp Scandinavian cold and gathered inside the Artipelag museum for the car’s global debut. Made in Gothenburg, but with the world in mind, the Volvo EX60 marks a confident step forward in the Swedish car manufacturer's electric evolution.
The evening opened with an intimate serenade from Sweden’s own singer-songwriter José González, performing a repertoire of hits with his signature indie sound. The soft strumming of his guitar, paired with his gentle crooning, created an atmospheric tone ahead of the EX60's anticipated arrival.

When the EX60 finally emerged with the near-silent hum of its electric engine, it travelled through a cinematic sequence of landscapes – from fast-paced, shadowed tunnels to vast mountain expanses, before arriving in a glowing urban cityscape. Each vignette reflected Volvo’s versatility, adaptability, and sense of purpose. Beyond the visual spectacle, one practical feat drew admiration from the room: the EX60’s ability to drive from Stockholm to Oslo on a single charge, eliminating any logistical anxieties that can come with driving an electric car.

The interiors are equally impressive, with ash wood detailing on the dash, wool-blend ergonomic seats, and a panoramic roof that can both protect from the harshest of elements or embrace them with a simple click. Scandinavian design is woven into the DNA, expressed through both functionality and restraint.
After a thorough walk through of the latest features, guests fêted the latest addition to Volvo Cars roster with cocktails and canapes, the room buzzing over the reveal in a concoction of different dialects. While we couldn’t pick up on what everyone from the international mix of attendees had to say about the launch, one thing was clear: this reveal is worth talking about
