JW Anderson brings British sporting to Uniqlo
Following a string of sold-out collaborations, Uniqlo reunites with British label JW Anderson for a collection that feels both buoyant and sharply considered. Light in spirit, playful in detail and rooted in a distinctly preppy sensibility, it’s a vibrant homage to British collegiate style – anchored, as ever, in everyday practicality.
“This collection offers a fresh interpretation of traditional British prep style, expressing its character with a spring-summer lightness and vibrant colours,” says designer and eponymous brand founder Jonathan Anderson. “In addition to classics such as Oxford shirts and blousons, we combine items that capture the essence of the season, like parkas and shorts.”

The collection places a significant emphasis on inspiration drawn from British water sports – evoking images of the Royal Henley Regatta or the Oxford-Cambridge race. Layering is paramount, harmonising the cords between classic and contemporary. Women's Oxford shirts now feature much-anticipated short sleeves, with the signature JW boxy cut keeping them resolutely modern. Men's cargo shorts are crafted from a cotton-linen twill, naturally enhancing texture and ensuring breezy comfort. Certain pieces, such as the zip-up blouson with its nod to vintage workwear motifs, are designed to defy gender.
