Welcome to FOMO List, a monthly column courtesy of Danish fashion sourcer extraordinaire Martina Harts. Having earned the reputation for being able to get her hands on the most impossible-to-get luxury items, Harts receives more than 50 requests per day from fashion profiles all over the world, each seeking their dream piece. Here, Harts offers an insider guide to this month’s most requested items – the ones that you can still get your hands on, anyway. Snap them up before it’s too late.
August is fading, and with September comes the start of fashion month—the most charged weeks of the year. From London to Paris, the schedule is relentless, the energy contagious, and this season feels more unmissable than ever. Between the heritage houses we know and love and a wave of thrilling new designer debuts, the runways are set to deliver the kind of moments everyone will be talking about.
In this column, I’ll be spotlighting the fall trends already on track to sell out, alongside the insider requests arriving before the first looks even hit the runway. September is about anticipation, speed, and securing what everyone else will soon be chasing – so consider this your guide to staying ahead of the curve.
First up, sculptural earrings. Alaïa’s wood clip-ons transcend mere accessory status, instead serving as wearable art. Then comes maxi drama: think Alaïa’s balloon skirt, front-row perfection and proof that full lengths are very much back. Luxe minimalism also continues its quiet reign, with The Row’s razor-sharp tailoring and loafers paired with Prada’s supple leather classics, redefining power dressing in the most understated way. On the darker end of the spectrum, gothic romance emerges – Saint Laurent’s silks and leather giving us femme fatale staples that turn dark glamour into everyday wear. Finally, outerwear and power boots are commanding attention: Prada’s blousons, YSL’s bombers, and Miu Miu’s buckle boots prove that statement coats and sculptural shoes are already waitlist material.
Don’t wait for the runway recaps – these are the trends and requests insiders are locking in now.
"Oversized yet refined, these earrings read as wearable architecture, the kind of statement that editors build a whole look around."
"Dark, moody, and dramatic, they channel the gothic undertone of fall with a vintage-inspired glamour."
"Editors are calling this the “front-row skirt” of the season. Voluminous, sculptural, and already scarce in key sizes – this is not one to hesitate on."
"The Row’s loafers are notorious for selling out on arrival, and this new iteration is no exception. Quiet luxury at its purest form, and already backlogged in boutiques."
"Tailoring this sharp yet fluid doesn’t stay available for long. The Clair pant is a buy-now-or-regret piece—high demand and limited runs mean it’s already hard to secure."
"An investment piece that feels inevitable. The Palomar is the kind of coat clients ask for by name, and the first drops are nearly gone."
"Already in shortage across Europe, these sculptural pumps hit that sweet spot of wearable and collectable. They're destined for waitlist status."
"Prada’s leather is always high demand, but this skirt is already marked “low stock” on key platforms. A wardrobe anchor and a sell-out waiting to happen. The most pre-ordered skirt this season."
"Utilitarian with a luxe finish, this jacket is trending high on pre-orders. Insiders are calling it one of Prada’s most versatile outerwear drops in years."
"Street-style’s sleeper hit. Requests are piling up before fashion month, and the buzz suggests these will be impossible to find by October."
"Edgy, industrial, and already topping sourcing requests. Expect this to be spotted on stylists and editors first."
"High drama in fabric form – this piece is already rare, with boutiques holding names on request lists. It’s the kind of skirt that vanishes mid-season."
"The perfect transitional jacket with a tailored edge. Saint Laurent’s outerwear rarely sits long, and this one is gaining traction fast."
"This bomber has "forever piece" written all over it, which explains the waiting lists. A heritage buy with instant sell-out energy."
