Gird your loins, spoilers lie ahead!

When you tell someone you work at a fashion magazine, 90 per cent of the time the response is the same: “Is it just like The Devil Wears Prada?” The answer they’re hoping for is yes – though that would imply a personal lives going up in flames for a career, a lifetime ban on carbs and a T-Mobile Sidekick running the show. In reality, the answer is no. We do not tremble in fear when our editor in chief walks through the door and, sadly, there is no ceiling-to-floor fashion closet to raid whenever the mood strikes.

That does not mean we aren’t avid fans of the film. Quotes like “By all means move at a glacial pace, you know how that thrills me” – and, when deadlines are looming, “I love my job, I love my job, I love my job” – are still deployed around the office with whimsy. So when Filmstaden and Disney invited team Vogue Scandinavia to a special screening of The Devil Wears Prada 2, it was hardly surprising that we jumped at the chance. After all, how often do you get to go to the cinema with your colleagues – away from the screens and relentless press releases that rule our days – to watch a film that somewhat reflects what you do?

Armed with popcorn and soda, we settled in for a two-hour extravaganza, 20 years in the making. Below, find quite literally every thought that crossed my mind while watching The Devil Wears Prada 2.
