Stockholm Surfboard Club - SS22

By Allyson Shiffman

For spring/summer 2022, Stockholm Surfboard Club takes punk on a trip to the golf course

For SS22, Stockholm Surfboard Club goes from the beach to the sand trap in a collection inspired by golf. Added to his core range of surfboards and wetsuits, founder and creative director Manne Glad introduces argyle vests and kick flare pants that are more Caddyshack than Tiger Woods.

The brand’s punky spirit is evident in the airbrushed t-shirts, starring the grim reaper. “I’m not sure if this would have worked on the golf course,” admits Glad, who presents the collection via a studio visit from the SSC HQ in Sickla, Stockholm. It’s a cavernous industrial space – once a tile factory – a charming departure from the white walls and meticulously curated offices so many other rising Swedish designers.

Also on offer, of course, are plenty of graphic tees and hoodies to satiate longtime fans of the brand. This time around, they’re rendered in tie-die, a hang loose sentiment if there ever was one.
