Stand Studio offered a spring/summer collection made for the paparazzi lens

This season, Stand Studio’s Nellie Kamras created, as she so often does, a faux fur and leather (some faux, some not) fantasy… Or perhaps it would be more appropriate to call it a dream, given that the collection draws inspiration from Los Angeles.

“I went on a trip to LA right before Covid and I was just totally hooked,” said Kamras, when we stopped by her Östermalm studio for a visit during Stockholm Fashion Week. “So I wanted to get the LA vibe.” She totally gets it. One could imagine the faux leather sports bra and bicycle short set on a Kardashian, under one of the varsity jackets for day or a leather coat for evening. The spaghetti-strapped leather dresses, rendered in pale yellow and lilac, would be right at home on any number of Hollywood starlets and the made-to-measure faux fur showpieces, that hot pink suit, especially, would fit the bolder celeb fashion icons. Rihanna does have a residence in Beverly Hills, after all.

Overall, the pieces are sportier and more relaxed. The aforementioned varsity, a key item for the season, comes in a range of colourways and cuts – the cropped, boxy iteration is a streetwear standout. Meanwhile, furry slides and bucket hats round out the looks in a manner that is paparazzi fresh.

Meanwhile, there’s one muse Kamras has in mind in particular, who would pull off just about any covetable item on offer with aplomb. Lucky for the designer, she often culls directly from the showroom. “I have a girl crush, I almost don’t dare to say it aloud: Hailey Bieber."
