Alexander and Chloe Wessely’s gothic-cool Stockholm apartment

Described by its Swedish inhabitants, Alexander and Chloe Wessely, as their very own “capsule of memory”, the acclaimed artist couple’s monochromatic, impossibly cool apartment in Stockholm’s lush Lärkstaden neighbourhood offers abundant home inspiration. Exclusively featured in our latest August-September issue, the brutalist yet elegant dwelling is punctuated by raven-hued accents and sculptural pieces plucked from sought-after designers across the globe – plus the occasional treasure collected on the couple’s travels, including a 400-year-old urn and Greek religious motifs.

Helle Mardahl’s quirky Copenhagen home

On a serene street in Copenhagen’s Østerbro district sits beloved Danish artist Helle Mardahl’s three-storey home, its facade fittingly cloaked in baby blue. In Vogue Scandinavia’s 2025 April-May issue, Mardahl welcomed us to her quirky retreat, which, much like her vibrant, coveted glassware, is swathed in technicolour hues and naturally filled with her sorbet-shaded glossy creations. Infused with a cheeky sense of humour, Mardahl’s playful 1876 apartment is a masterclass in creating eye-catching, eclectic interiors.

Fredrik Eklund’s (former) candy-hued Beverly Hills family home

Although they’ve now passed their extraordinary Los Angeles residence on to a new family, we can’t help but reminisce about Swedish real estate mogul Fredrik Eklund’s captivating candy-coloured interiors, as seen in Vogue Scandinavia’s June-July 2023 issue. Drenched in delicious hues of pinks, yellows, greens and blues, Eklund’s former family home strikes the sweet spot between maximalism and minimalism, where a vibrant palette meets exquisite statement pieces and design-forward furniture defined by clean lines.

Christine Mack’s art-filled New York mansion

A rooftop minigolf course is just one of the many features that make celebrated Swedish art dealer Christine Mack’s Bridgehampton mansion a must-see. Yet stealing the spotlight in her airy, well-curated estate is – unsurprisingly – art, sourced from leading names and scattered throughout. Exuding chic, streamlined Scandinavian sensibilities where neutral shades and natural materials reign supreme, the home, featured in *Vogue Scandinavia*’s February-March 2024 issue, is finished off with a glistening turquoise pool and, as you’d expect, sweeping ocean views.

Vuokko and Antti Nurmesniemi’s Finnish design-filled home

Few homes in Finland are as revered as the Kulosaari dwelling of renowned Finnish design powerhouse duo Vuokko and Antti Nurmesniemi. An architectural gem nestled among swathes of pine trees and perched on the Baltic Sea, the home has become a design icon in its own right, with Antti and Vuokko’s creations crowning the interiors. A true embodiment of Finnish functionalism, its minimalist, open-plan layout creates the perfect backdrop for the couple’s bold and vibrant pieces.

Darja Barannik’s sleek and sophisticated Oslo apartment

Norwegian content creator Darja Barannik might be best known for her show-stopping looks, but her light-soaked Oslo apartment deserves equal admiration. “I have an insatiable desire to make my home look, and feel, like a comfortable, cosy haven. Simply put, my home is a natural extension of my personal style,” she told Vogue Scandinavia – and we agree. The style maven has meticulously curated the elegant interiors herself, incorporating buzzy pieces like the ‘CH24 Wishbone’ chairs and Mario Bellini’s ‘Camaleonda’ sofa alongside polished vintage finds.

Johanna Sirén’s breathtaking Lapland oasis

The views don’t get much better than those vintage leather jacket dealer Johanna Sirén wakes up to at her family’s holiday home in Levi, Finnish Lapland. Upon entering, you’re greeted by interiors as stunning as the scenery beyond. Echoing the house’s forested surroundings, delicately blanketed with snow come winter, the pine wood-clad space is bathed in soft hues and anchored by sculptural furniture, all personally sourced by Sirén.

Tina Dico and Helgi Jónsson's minimalist Iceland retreat

Beneath a mossy grass roof and overlooking Iceland’s deepest lake lies the understated summerhouse of creative couple Tina Dico and Helgi Jónsson, which delights in all its pared-back glory and tactile natural materials. “We didn’t want to do anything that was crazy or huge,” said Dico. “I just thought we would build a beautiful wooden house with big windows.” Indeed, the split-level house’s expansive panes offer unparalleled vistas of the rugged landscape, a mood that carries over to the interiors, where the couple has perfected the balance between cosy and restrained.

Celine Aagaard’s humble Norwegian hytte

Norwegian countryside cabins, or ‘hytter’ as they’re known, are an integral part of many Norwegians’ lives – rural escapes from the hustle and bustle of daily life, often without running water or indoor toilets. In Vogue Scandinavia’s October-November 2022 issue, Celine Aagaard, founder and creative director of Oslo-based brand Envelope1976, granted us a peek inside her humble hytte in Saltstein, its origins tracing back to 1960. Perched atop volcanic rock and overlooking the glimmering sea, the cabin’s minimalist, light-hued interiors, punctuated by designer pieces like the ‘Togo’ sofas and the ‘Flos Arco’ floor lamp, create the perfect setting for the surrounding nature.
