Titled 'Gust', Séfr’s SS26 womenswear collection responds to the unpredictability of Scandinavian summers – balancing functional silhouettes and natural materials with the brand’s signature offbeat detailing
For spring/summer ’26, Séfr looks to a particularly Scandinavian phenomenan: the sudden, unpredictable shifts in summer weather. A moment of calm can give way to a sharp gust or rain shower – only for clear skies to return just as quickly. It’s within these transitions that the collection, titled 'Gust', finds its focus.
“As I imagine all fellow Scandinavians can relate to, our summer weather can often take unexpected and quick turns. A sudden gust of wind or rain is a common occurrence,” says creative director Sinan Abi Morshed, who – with Gothenburg as his hometown and the brand's base – is qualified to comment. “We felt that we wanted to create a collection that takes into account all weather aspects of these warmer months, and that was the starting point of 'Gust'. The collection is functional, summer-ready, yet has the Séfr playfulness and keen attention to details,” he explains.
This season places a strong emphasis on pure natural materials, including linen, silk and cotton, reimagined across multiple fabrications. Think laminated linen, summer-inspired tweed cloths, and sturdy Italian cotton twills. These textiles become the building blocks for a modular warm-weather wardrobe designed to adapt to the day.
Key pieces include the 'Flora' top, a beautifully woven style with a knot-shoulder band construction, and the 'Fran' jacket, cut from a two-tone Italian cotton twill with a collar-to-sleeve merge that accentuates the contrast colours. Elsewhere, the 'Soline' trouser in light ecru twill, made from a 12oz Italian cotton, is cut in a shaped, spacious silhouette with a regular waist and five-pocket construction – ideal to pair with the collection's oversized poplin shirts or textured sweaters.
“I’d say we’re continuously growing more mature and confident in what we do,” Morshed reflects on the brand’s evolution. “We have such a clear vision of what we want to create and I believe that is one of the things that differentiates us from other brands out there. We always do it with a twist, whether it is in the shape of the garment, or the actual cut that is unexpected and playful. I believe the customers are noticing that too, as we’ve received an incredible following on our women's line after only two seasons.”
