Runic Astrology October 19th - October 25th: What do the runes have in store for you this week?

By Randi Bjærum

Runic astrologer Randi Bjærum uses the ancient Viking practice to forecast your love, money, career, style, and health every week

Divination in runes is an ancient art that can be traced back to the Norse God Odin. Old scriptures show that the Vikings then continued this tradition – they even used used rune symbols in jewellery, clothing and weapons to boost their energy.

Each person has their own rune stone, depending on what day, and at what time, they were born. This unique birth rune indicates the abilities, talents and resources that you bring into your life.

But as the universe is constantly changing, daily, weekly or monthly runic astrology can tell you how events, actions and things affect your life. It can also reveal what energies, events and changes are occurring, and how you can best act on them. A runic horoscope is a guide to your spiritual journey, and a guide on how to live life to the fullest.

Perthro (13th January - 28th January)

Coincidences may become more noticeable this week. A name, number, song or encounter might keep appearing in your life. Pay attention to the pattern, but resist the urge to force an explanation just yet. Observe and allow things to unfold over the next three weeks. The truth will eventually reveal itself.

Algiz (28th January - 13th February)

Old patterns may resurface and become more apparent over the next three weeks. You could gain a clearer sense of who or what is draining your energy. Give yourself permission to step back from people who create unnecessary turmoil. Whether this distance becomes permanent is something you will know in three weeks' time. For now, wait and see.

Sowilo (13th February - 27th February)

A situation that has felt uncertain may begin to take shape over the next three weeks. You might suddenly realise what you want without needing anyone else's approval. Your own inner clarity is stronger than the doubts of others. Let time work in your favour. Wait three weeks before making a final decision, then take decisive action.

Teiwaz (27th February - 14th March)

You may find yourself having to choose between what feels comfortable, and what you know is right. It might be necessary to wait another three weeks before you have all the information you need. Trust your values, even if others do not understand your decision. Integrity means doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. Have faith in yourself.

Berkano (14th March - 30th March)

Something new is beginning to take shape, but it still needs time and protection. Avoid sharing your plans with too many people over the next three weeks, particularly before you have decided which direction to take. Not every plan or idea needs to be revealed before it has developed into something tangible.

Ehwaz (30th March - 14th April)

Someone may help you see a situation from an entirely different perspective. Collaboration will prove more valuable than insisting on being right. The right companion does not necessarily make the journey shorter, but they can make it easier. Take the next three weeks to reflect before taking decisive action.

Mannaz (14th April - 29th April)

Someone else's reaction may stir feelings within you that you were not previously aware of. Over the next three weeks, use this experience as an opportunity for self-discovery rather than judging the other person. Sometimes, the qualities that irritate us in others can open the door to a deeper understanding of ourselves.

Laguz (29th April - 14th May)

Your dreams and intuitive impressions may become stronger towards the end of the week as the energy of next week's full moon begins to build. Write down what you experience, particularly if certain themes keep recurring. Your inner world becomes clearer when the outside world grows quiet. Meditate and make time to find your sense of calm.

Ingwaz (14th May – 29th May)

A project or personal journey you have kept private may be approaching its next phase. You do not need to reveal everything just yet. Instead, consider what you want to carry forward. Something significant can begin as a quiet feeling that no one else can see. Use the next three weeks to bring the different pieces together before moving ahead.

Othala (29th May – 14th June)

Towards the end of the week, you may experience a noticeable shift in how you view a particular situation. It could feel as though a mental fog is lifting, just ahead of next week's full moon. An awakening often arrives as a simple moment of clarity. Trust your intuition.

Dagaz (14th June – 29th June)

The energy of the approaching full moon is drawing your attention to what you truly want from life and what you are no longer willing to carry forward. Old patterns or habits may become more apparent over the next three weeks. For now, take stock of what needs to change, but wait until the three weeks have passed before taking decisive action.

Fehu (29th June – 14th July)

Something you have forgotten about – an old idea, agreement or opportunity – may suddenly resurface and take on new significance. Revisit things you previously set aside before embarking on something entirely new. Whatever returns now is asking you to consider whether it can be brought to completion before you move forward.

Uruz (14th July – 29th July)

You may feel a surge of physical energy, but also greater impatience than usual. Channel this strength into something constructive rather than allowing it to turn into restlessness. However, even as your energy grows, avoid taking decisive action for another few weeks. Allow things to develop naturally. Sometimes, the most important thing you can do is listen.

Thurisaz (29th July – 13th August)

Misunderstandings in communication may arise this week, particularly between what was said and what was actually meant – or vice versa. Double-check your conversations and messages to ensure your intentions have been understood. As the weekend approaches, you may begin to feel the energy of the approaching full moon building. Make time for meditation.

Ansuz (13th August – 29th August)

A conversation you thought was over may be reopened. This time, you have the opportunity to express what was left unsaid, although the dialogue could continue over the next three weeks. Be diplomatic. Some words need time before they reach the person they are meant for.

Raidho (29th August – 13th September)

Misunderstandings and delays may be more frequent than usual over the next three weeks. Allow plenty of extra time if you are travelling, and double-check your passport, tickets and keys before setting off. A journey, arrangement or plan may need adjusting along the way. Patience will serve you well.

Kenaz (13th September – 28th September)

Misunderstandings may arise over the next three weeks, but secrets could also come to light. Something you have been wondering about may finally begin to make sense when a previously hidden detail emerges. An unexpected revelation could help you understand why a particular situation has unfolded the way it has.

Gebo (28th September – 13th October)

Something that has been deliberately kept from you may come to light over the next three weeks, particularly where romance is involved. More generally, you may benefit from paying closer attention to relationships in which you give a great deal without receiving the same in return. It's time to find a healthier balance.

Wunjo (13th October – 28th October)

An unexpected surprise could shape your week. A spontaneous social invitation may offer exactly the break you need, while an encounter could bring back a sense of lightness you have been missing. Sometimes, healing comes through laughter and human connection.

Hagalaz (28th October – 13th November)

A minor disruption may reveal that something in your everyday life needs to change. Avoid wasting energy trying to restore everything to the way it was. What is being disrupted may be showing you where you have outgrown old circumstances or habits. Use the next three weeks constructively to make the necessary changes.

Nauthiz (13th November – 28th November)

Something you desire may take longer to materialise than expected. This delay could last up to three weeks, but it may also give you the opportunity to discover what you truly want before saying yes. A delay is not always a rejection. Sometimes, it is preparation for something new that is yet to come.

Isa (28th November – 13th December)

Towards the end of the week, you may notice your energy turning inwards. Resist the urge to fill every quiet moment with activity or answers. Before your energy shifts again, stillness may offer you the clarity you need. This reflective period could last up to three weeks. Take time to consider the changes taking place.

Jera (13th December – 28th December)

A process you have been waiting on may finally begin moving towards a result. The signs might be subtle at first, but progress is becoming more apparent than before. Autumn reminds you that what needs time to mature cannot be rushed. In three weeks, things are likely to become clearer.

Eihwaz (28th December – 13th January)

An old feeling or situation may return, offering you the chance to understand it on a deeper level. The difference now is that you can approach it with the experience and wisdom you have gained since the last time. There is no need to fear the past when you have already grown beyond it. Use the next three weeks constructively to resolve unfinished matters.
