Runic Astrology April 28th - May 4th: What do the runes have in store for you this week?

By Randi Bjærum

Runic astrologer Randi Bjærum uses the ancient Viking practice to forecast your love, money, career, style and health every week

Divination in runes is an ancient art that can be traced back to the Norse God Odin. Old scriptures show that the Vikings then continued this tradition - they even used used[rune symbols in jewellery, clothing and weapons to boost their energy.

When we're born, we all get our own rune stone (find yours here). This birth rune indicates the abilities, talents and resources that you bring into your life.

But as the universe is constantly changing, daily, weekly or monthly runic astrology can tell you how events, actions and things affect your life. It can also reveal what energies, events and changes are occurring, and how you can best act on them. A runic horoscope is a guide to your spiritual journey and a guide on how to live life to the fullest.

Hagalaz (28th October – 13th November)

There’s something about your gaze this week – you’re seeing more than what’s being said. You’re reading the subtitles of other people’s lives, but don’t forget to listen to your own. Not everything needs interpretation. Some things are just meant to be. Protect your energy. Not everything is yours to carry.

Nauthiz (13th November – 28th November)

You’re feeling a bit restless and ready for adventure – but that doesn’t have to mean faraway travel. New perspectives can show up over coffee or in a good book. All you need is to stay awake to the moment. Don’t underestimate the power of a small shift.

Isa (28th November – 13th December)

You’re craving something meaningful, and this week, you’ll find traces of it in the everyday. A simple conversation can spark a major shift within you. Everything begins when you listen without needing to understand. Find meaning in the small things. Not everything requires a journey.

Jera (13th December – 28th December)

You want everything in order, but this week challenges you to relax your grip. It’s okay not to have the full overview. The most important things happen between the lines. You see more than you think. Let something unfold without controlling it.

Eihwaz (28th December – 13th January)

You’ve been holding it together for a long time – now there’s space for a little pause. This week teaches you that vulnerability doesn’t weaken you. It makes you human. Someone may meet you in the very place you’ve tried to hide. Let the façade crack, light gets in through the breaks.

Perthro (13th January – 28th January)

You may think you need a whole new direction, but it’s more about a slight course correction. Small, honest steps can take you far. You don’t always need a master plan. Follow curiosity – not necessarily logic.

Algiz (28th January – 13th February)

You see possibilities others overlook, but the timing might not yet be right. Still, something is stirring – inside you, not outside. It’s about a new way of being yourself. Take care of the idea, even if no one else understands it yet.

Sowilo (13th February – 27th February)

You’re moving between dream and reality, and it’s hard to find solid ground. But what you're feeling now is pointing you in the right direction – even if it doesn’t make sense yet. Some dreams just need more time. Don’t dismiss what’s unclear. It could be the beginning of something big.

Teiwaz (27th February – 14th March)

Something in you needs silence now, not explanation. You carry a wisdom that doesn’t come from books, but from lived experience. When you stop swimming upstream, peace finds you. Be gentle with yourself, even when you feel weak.

Berkano (14th March – 30th March)

An unexpected surge of energy comes at the start of the week – like something old letting go to make room for something new. You’re becoming clearer about what you want, and that clarity feels good, even if others struggle to keep up. Hold onto whatever makes you smile.

Ehwaz (30th March – 14th April)

Something is awakening in you – something that’s been dormant. It shows in your eyes before your words can shape it. You’re looking ahead, but now more aware of what you’re leaving behind. It’s no longer about speed, but direction. Dare to be the first to open your heart.

Mannaz (14th April – 29th April)

You sense something stirring beneath the surface, though it’s not yet clear what it is. This week is more about listening than acting – and that can be an unfamiliar exercise. Not everything needs to be resolved right away.
Give yourself time to feel before you respond.

Laguz (29th April – 14th May)

You feel more grounded than you have in a long time, yet something is simmering behind the stability. Perhaps an inner door wants to open, even if you don’t yet know where it leads. There’s nothing wrong with yearning for more. Don’t place too many demands on yourself right now.

Ingwaz (14th May – 29th May)

You feel the urge to rearrange, both mentally and physically. New ideas come easily, but not everything needs immediate action. You’re inspiring others more than you realise. Write down what comes to you – you’ll use it later.

Othala (29th May – 14th June)

Your thoughts flutter like butterflies, but one is ready to land and stay. You’re drawn to everything that sparkles like a good idea, but this time, it’s something deeper that holds your attention. You’ll hear it in your voice when you speak the truth, when it comes from within. Be curious – even if you don’t understand it all right away.

Dagaz (14th June – 29th June)

Lately, you’ve been pondering how everything connects – and that openness brings new insight. A conversation with someone you haven’t spoken to in a long time could offer fresh perspective. It’s good to remind yourself just how far you’ve come.

Fehu (29th June – 14th July)

There’s a quiet maturation happening within your emotions. Something or someone lets go without drama. You don’t need to explain everything to be understood, and that brings peace. Old ties loosen gently, as if they were never there. Let go without guilt. You owe no one your presence.

Uruz (14th July – 29th July)

You feel a pleasant buzz when given the chance to show who you are – but not every moment needs to be a performance. This week is more about genuine presence than impressive displays. Someone sees you, even when you're not trying.

Thurisaz (29th July – 13th August)

You shine brightest when you're not trying to convince anyone. It’s in the quiet moments that people truly see you. Right now, you radiate a warmth that’s healing – for others and for yourself. Use your light to comfort, not to dazzle.

Ansuz (13th August – 29th August)

You may feel everything needs to be in order before you can relax, but this week teaches you otherwise. It is possible to rest in the middle of the mess. There’s a kind of peace in not having control. That’s okay. Allow yourself to be unstructured for a while.

Raidho (29th August – 13th September)

What you once controlled now seems to have a life of its own. At first it feels like a loss of order, but then you see something new growing in the unexpected. You’ve never been this close to your own vulnerability. Drop the lists – follow the feeling.

Kenaz (13th September – 28th September)

You're being pulled in several directions, and that can make you unsure of what you really want. But beneath it all, a quiet certainty is growing – one that cannot be shaken. You just need a bit more space to hear yourself. Say what you mean, even if it’s not popular.

Gebo (28th September – 13th October)

You’re standing at a crossroads, but deep down you already know which path calls to you. It’s easy to weigh the pros and cons, but the truth is already felt, not thought. Some doors aren’t meant to be reopened. Trust what you know, even when you doubt it.

Wunjo (13th October – 28th October)

You sense that something is waiting for you – a subtle turning point that hasn’t quite taken shape. You feel it in your body before you understand it in your thoughts. Be open to change from unexpected sources. Trust your intuition, even when it doesn’t offer all the answers.
